In cooperation with the UW Department of Animal Science, we run the Pre-Veterinary Medicine Option.
Faculty in the veterinary sciences department are heavily engaged in the interdisciplinary Microbiology Program, an externship program for junior and senior veterinary students, and in training first-year medical students in the regional medical program WWAMI (Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana, and Idaho).
The mission of the Department of Veterinary Sciences to help ensure that livestock, wildlife and companion animals in Wyoming and the region are healthy through a combination of teaching, professional service, extension and research activities and that spontaneous diseases are accurately diagnosed.
