Terrible office management and complete lack of patient consideration. I was supposed to have a hearing test appointment today that THEY scheduled for me over a month ago… only to find out that their office was CLOSED today for the holiday! I had no idea. They even sent me automated confirmation emails and text messages to confirm my appointment days prior. I showed up this morning and was sitting in the parking lot for over an hour. NO ONE called me, NO ONE notified me in any way to let me know. These people are terrible. Whoever did this and didn’t even bother to contact your own patient to let them know, I’ll let karma do the work for you.
My experience only extended as far as my attempts to reach the office to make an appointment by phone. Twice I’ve called. The phone rings and rings then a busy signal comes on. No ability to leave message. I’m done.
I love this place my toddler was getting reoccurring ear infections and her pediatrician suggested we get it check. This office is clean and the staff and so nice. We had 3 appts and never waited more than 5 mins from letting us in to seeing the doctor. Her dr was so sweet informative and playful. I would recommend this place everyone especially with a busy body toddler, they have a private waiting room for them as well so they don’t disturb the other patients.
It is absolutely impossible to reach a human on the phone. The door to the office is locked at all times. You are required to call from the lobby in order to gain access. I don’t t own a cell phone because I am profoundly hearing impaired, as are many of the patients who visit a doctor who treats hearing impaired individuals. HELLO!
The doctor I saw at this practice was excellent, but my experience with the receptionists has been downright awful. I had to wait on hold for over 25 minutes to book the appointment in the first place. The receptionist did not speak clearly and was difficult to understand. Despite repeating myself 3x, she did not enter my e-mail address correctly. I went to the Providence location of UnivOto 13 months prior so I already had a patient profile. The receptionist told me that if I needed to re-enter any information or fill out additional forms, I would receive an e-mail from them. I never got an e-mail, so I thought I was all set. When I came to the East Greenwich office for my appointment, the receptionist chided me for not completing the forms in advance through the patient portal via e-mail and told me it was "a different system" from how it was when I had my appointment in 2019. I told her I never got an e-mail. She handed me an iPad with all the same questions and formatting as what I completed in 2019. It was then that I discovered that my e-mail address was entered incorrectly by the first receptionist over the phone. I brought that to her attention and she fixed it. The appointment itself, 2 weeks after the onset of my symptoms with me still in pain was fine. The doctor wanted an MRI done. The next day, I contacted the imaging center to book the MRI. They never received an order from UnivOto. I called UnivOto, waited on hold for 15 minutes, finally spoke to a person, and she briskly transferred me to someone's mailbox. I left a message about what I needed. Two and a half business days later, I contacted the imaging center again. Still no order from UnivOto. I called UnivOto and left a message on their general line. 7 hours later, no reply. Today, I decided to try logging into the patient portal in case somehow, maybe, just maybe, the order would be in there and I could print it and provide it to the imaging center. Lo and behold: my 2019 information is all in the patient portal. No sign of my 2020 appointment, though. I am STILL in significant discomfort from my TMD and STILL cannot perform all of my work functions. I speak for a living, and anything beyond ~45 minutes of talking leaves me stiff and painful. At this point, I am genuinely unsure how to proceed. In normal times, I would visit in person, but with COVID precautions I am sure I will be turned away at the door for not having an appointment. Maybe this review will reach the right set of eyes, and someone will check the general mailbox and call me back.
I have no problem with the providers ar this office, but the office staff is subpar. I was handed someone else discharge documents. HIPPA violation. Which means my discharge papers were given to another patient. I was given the other patients appointment. None of this was brought to light until I showed up for the appointment. I was told I didn't have an appt. Fast forward 3 months to today and now I'm told my provider only works Fridays in East Greenwich. Never notified. Waited for 45 minutes and not one member of this office addressed me or the situation. I left my number and asked them to call me. 2 hours later still no call. This office is a joke.
Although I feel that Dr. Duff is a wonderful doctor, I have taken my husband who suffers with severe Meniere’s symptoms to Massachusetts Eye and Ear in Boston for all future needs. They actually speak to you on the phone within just a minute or two. Office visits are readily available. The care you receive in Boston cannot be compared to University Otolaryngology. The East Greenwich office functions very poorly.
Called in to setup an appointment after My Primary Physician sent over a referral. Was on hold to for 35 minutes to have the call hang up. Called in again....whoever was answering the phone to schedule was rude and spoke to me as if I was a child. Got yelled at because I told scheduler that I was making to an appointment relating to throat issue, on going before any COVID. Was told no way Dr. would see me because of COVID and then call got hung up. Just 100% rude.
Just had a hearing aid adjustment. The audiologist, Kristin E. was not very helpful. In fact, she forgot to re- set the volume control and I had to wait another 45 minutes! No apologies - just another attitude! However, I can’t say enough about Maya, the audiologist I usually see!
Stay far away this place does not follow up with you at all no doctor follow ups no office follow ups nothing can't get a hold for the office in any form and they never return calls and this is not based on just my experiences but multiple family and friends if you.have a appointment cancel cancel cancel!!!!!
