I went to the Port Orchard post office to get a PO box in the city I am moving to. I filled out the 1093, paid for the box $120, provided ID according to instructions. Was told I would get a call in 2 to 3 days with the PO box number in Florida. Went back today, 8 days later and was told"that person doesnt work here anymore". I then asked what needed to be done as I had a high need to get the new PO box number. Was told " we emailed them the information and have not heard back and that us all we can do." I explained my sense of urgency and was told "all I can tell you is GOOD LUCK.". Cushy customer no service government employee that just does not give a damn! If one of my employees had treated a custoner that way I would fire them on the spot!
There needs to be more positive reviews for this post office location. The front end staff are incredibly kind and efficient making the longest line move quickly. One of them was patient and helped me fill out my customs form for an FPO package being sent to my deployed husband. I have never had any issue here.
My mailbox is left over EVERY SINGLE TIME I have mail no matter the weather. My husband has talked to this mail lady, I've talked to this mail lady and my husband has called and complained and I've ALSO called and complained. It's frustrating and ridiculous. She obviously doesn't care about her job or respect for anyone around her. This is over the 10th time something has been said to her directly this is the countless time a phone call has been made. "We'll have a talk with her, we definitely know who she is" DOESNT CUT IT. I want something to actually be done. There seems to be no consequences for the same actions that keep being made and Its been OVER A YEAR. I'm tired of my mail being rained on, snowed on, left open for anyone to grab and steal let alone to snoop in! I've already had a crackhead in my mailbox that I had to chase down on foot while 18 weeks pregnant! My son is now 2 months going on 3 and it still gets left open! Either find someone else to do her job for her or don't let her do her job at all! Obviously she needs someone to hold her hand everyday while she delivers mail.
The most helpful and friendly postal workers I’ve ever worked with at this office. We had trouble with our mail delivery at a newly built address and they have gone above and beyond to help us get our packages. They have been incredibly kind every time we come in. Truly appreciate this!
When mail comes and needs a signature, the mail person cannot be heard due to a very quiet horn and then we cannot set up a new delivery day...only option is to go to the Post Office. I was on the doctor's phone call and my husband cannot get out to the street without help. So much for a nice mail service.
Lady at the front desk area was awful. Came in just to pick up a package that was marked undeliverable. She said, "You have too many addresses and this is too confusing, so I need to ask you to step aside because I have to help the gentlemen behind you." The next lady to come out from the back was awesome and figured out my issue in no time. But while I was being helped, the first lady was chirping at us about how I had "too many addresses" because we live in an ADU but have our mail delivered next door to our in-laws. Not only that but she started accosting the next guy who needed help with sarcasm because he couldn't hear her very well and was a bit older. She said "please answer the question on the keypad" and he said "what question?" and she said "the question ON THE KEYPAD like I JUST said. I THINK her name is Shannon as another commenter said but I could be wrong. Everyone else was really nice and helpful. No wonder the reviews here are so bad.
They put the key to a parcel locker in my mailbox but failed to put my packages I ordered into the parcel locker. The online USPS form missing packages doesn’t work.
Great front end staffing, but operations need to be cohesive. For the majority of the year there are typically 2-3 employees working the front and another who comes out on occasion for pickup/dropoff with no money involved. Unfortunately around the holidays the person who comes out for pickup/dropoff does not take already paid for drop off packages. This makes the lines incredibly long and increases wait times. I'm not sure why they change it during the holidays, but it adds to the other employees already heavy workload.
UPDATE: Called post office to find out why packages were not being delivered. Lady on the phone was very helpful and explained some policies I was unaware of. 1 Postal carriers don't back-up their vehicles so if they can't drive thru your driveway, they won't deliver. 2 Postal carriers don't walk up your driveway to your door to deliver packages. They will walk a few steps from their truck to your front door but they have hundreds of homes to visit each day and it's not feasible to walk up everyone's driveway. 3 If your driveway is inaccessible using their drive-thru policy, you can leave a covered tote at the end of your driveway and they will place deliveries to large to fit in your mailbox in the tote, but only do this if you're sure no one will steal your packages. We had other delivery carriers NOT USPS having collisions and creating property damage with our steps to the porch, solar lighting along the driveway and backing into & destroying landscaping. Our solution was to put traffic cones across the driveway to force the delivery personnel to walk up the driveway, thus preventing further damage. However, our cone solution to one problem created a new problem with getting deliveries from USPS to our door. I appreciate that the post worker was friendly and patient while hearing me out and then explained details and solutions with me. We like our mail carrier and now we know why it seemed like the service level went downhill. Lesson learned and we ended moving the cones.
Go to a different post office!! This one won't help you or be courteous. They will not even give you a single piece of tape, they just tell you they don't give out office supplies. Every other post office will gladly give you a single piece of tape. They will also charge you to the tenth of an ounce, so if your package isn't exact or under weight for what you paid then you're going to be on the hook for more money. Every other post office has a window of forgiveness for package prices and will ship your package no issue. Beside the 1 asain guy that was extremely helpful and friendly, every other employee is rude and could care less. The manager at this location is an overweight female, she is extremely rude and could care less if you were helped properly. Go somewhere else this one is the worst there is
