I feel compelled to write a review of this USPS as frankly I was pretty concerned after seeing the reviews here, and worrying that my moving up to the Oaks would be a nightmare for mail and packages. Thankfully the experience I had was both very pleasant with the person serving my both personable and professional - helping me out with paperwork I hadn't properly completed and helping a few customers behind me with a smile and friendly attitude. Seeing as these negative reviews are older, I'm optimistic that the leadership/staff changes that were needed have happened and that things are greatly improved with the people that are there now. note: I do not disagree with those lower scores, they all appear to be very genuine, my review is to showcase that things have hopefully changed for the better and i'd like to reflect that Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars today is that I will be going back there a few times over the next month for a variety of activities - if everything lines up then I'll be very happy to lift this to 5 stars and start to balance out those older, lower scores.
It's awesome that you can call them directly and they answer the phone. Always helpful and polite. I work during their business hours so, when I get an alert from any shipping company stating my package has been delivered to my PO Box, I give them a call and ask them to put it in a large box and leave the key in my box so I can retrieve it. That is amazing service! Cost has gone up a lot since I first moved here 25yrs ago but, worth it!
i really love the Oaks & most of the people here. I will say however, I've only had one instance that I think was flat out theft. I have often ordered things on line & although some items seem to take forever to finally get here, they have in fact always eventually arrived. However, there was an instance where I was tracking my package & it showed that it was delivered & scanned, but yet it was nowhere to be found. Well after weeks of going around & around & jumping through hoops & taking all of the steps needed to resolve the mystery of where my package was or get a refund or something...anything, nothing was resolved. Clearly I got burned all the way around & some employee at the CLO post office got off with a very lucrative package that was meant for me.
I like small town postal services because you are known & greeted like a friend. Things can be sent general delivery & they always seem 2 find the recipient The thing i dont like about small town post offices is they close early open late and make their own hours and have no stamp vending machines. To get a single stamp you have to wait for business hours. Its cozy friendly & vintage. The outside of the office is beautiful with flowering planter boxes . Inside really could use a cleaning dusting & garbage on the floor picked up.
They are some of the laziest workers ever here. Don’t answer the front because of the blaring rock music they have going on. How unprofessional. You have to call by phone number to let them know you’re there most of the time I go. And the fact that they don’t follow directions when you ask for your package to be left in a locked box is very infuriating. Their excuse is. “We forgot” or “there weren’t any boxes to lock your package in” One is a lie. When I checked a few times I have asked them to do this there are many open boxes with no keys in them. Hope they defund the USPS. Getting my next day delivery packages are such a hassle with them. Why can’t we have a mail box and get mail delivered properly
When you send a letter to an address formerly served but now is a P.O. Box instead of the standard Cluster Box today , How difficult is it in a SMALL town, Small Post Office to just put it in the correct Box for that Customer? Talk about forgetting about who you work for or Caring for your customer.... : Signed The Son of TWO retired U.S. Postal Workers.
I order packages often because im not in a larger city where i can just drive to the stores. Ever since I have lived at my current home, this place will not deliver my packages and make up multiple excuses everytime even though my house is very accessable. Ive never had an issue with fedex or ups and I always pay for my shipping. I work all day and cant stop at the post office to pick them up so this is an issue.
Best post office I've ever been in great people nice and clean Sandy is very informative and help you clear up postal issues she's great appreciate having great people in lake county
I honestly cannot believe how mean spirited these people are..seriously. I moved to a rental house out in tiny clearlake oaks a few months ago and I buy alot off amazon because this is such a small town and I can't find what I want in stores. Problem is there is no mailbox and UPS dosn't want to delivery out here so everything is shipped to usps and I don't have a formal lease as it is a vacation house so I don't qualify for a free PO box, but luckily the post office was holding my mail claiming they would hold the mail for 21 days UP UNTIL a week ago. It started with a few nitpicky remarks such as a friend mispelling one number on the zip and she got angry AT ME acting as if it was just to mess with them or somthing saying she'd send back my packages if it ever happened again. Anywho she kept to her promise but not in the way you think ALL packages correctly labeled and send to my address started being returned to sender with the silly excuse "unknown address" and "moved address, new address unknown" Um I'm still here and you know who I am and what my address is! I've been nothing but nice to them too just agreeing with everything they say but I'm tired of them screwing with my mail... I'm moving in just a week or two and I feel like crying because they wont give me my mail. A long haired older lady there told me to ship to a certain address the post office's address along with the words GENERAL DELIVERY to make sure I get mail to general delivery when I'm ordering off amazon and EVEN THAT was returned to sender. This is very frustrating. To top it all off two of the women here are extremely rude and are very condescending in the way they speak to people; also smirking when you tell someone bad news is also not appreciated. Please hateful people, instead of signing up for jobs where you are working direct with public, find a nice desk job or something so you won't have to feed innocent people your horrible nazi vibes. New management would be wonderful! I have yet to experience something like this involving usps in my life. I can't quite put my finger on why they choose to pick on me, is it that my hair is an unnatural color? Or the fact that I'm not 100% Caucasian? Maybe they're just bored of their jobs or unhappy with their lives, whichever it is, it pays to be kind to people because karma is real and happiness will never come from treating other people like the dirt. I'm literally moving in 2 weeks and moving is stressful enough as is.......
Worst Post Office I have ever been too. Packages will sit behind the counter for a few days to half a week before they are put in a po box. I know Federal employees are often lazy, but these people makes sloths look like cheetahs.
