Great Post Office! Always go there and Never had a bad experience. Clerck Varghese always helpful and kind.
I've been going to this post office several times a week for the last couple of months so about ~20 times total and I love it. I've NEVER had a bad experience -- the clerks are incredibly nice and have gone out of their way to help me figure out the lowest price for sending packages, are always efficient and appropriately staffed, and generally pleasant people. This location also stays open longer than most of the other post offices around. I'm genuinely surprised by some of these negative reviews. I just moved to the area, and the post office where I used to live in Manhattan had horrible service would close early, always understaffed, extremely slow even when there's a line -- so I have something to compare to. But with this post office, I genuinely look forward to biking over, being greeted kindly, and sending off my letters and packages.
I am very disappointed with USPS priority mail service. I ship all my packages through Ebay sales and I recently shipped a wrench set in a USPS priority mail flat rate box. The box was ripped open with a stamp stating "Received Without Contents" from USPS. The receiver expected a full refund of $226 but USPS is only willing to cover $50. I had a false sense of security shipping USPS priority, never though the box would be ripped open during transit, never though the contents would be removed, never though USPS would not cover the loss.
Horrendous post office. They go out of their way to open your packages and charge you extra postage if they deem that the person who sent you the package did not pay enough postage. This is understandable once or twice, however, this has happened to me on too many occasions over the course of a few years. At this point it is excessive and ridiculous. I will be getting all packages/correspondence mailed to a different address located outside of my neighborhood just to avoid having to deal with this particular office. Additionally, the staff is often nasty, combative, defensive and unhelpful. Apparently, the customer is always wrong in this establishment. There's just a bad vibe in this place. It's a shame really because the office serves a nice neighborhood and these people have a pretty sweet gig if you ask me.
Very very slow compared to other USPS locations
Double charging on envelopes if “not thick enough” or not rigid enough . One nasty clerk at the East Williston PO literally stressed to bend a 1/2 inch rigid bubble envelope with plastic card protection containing a collectible baseball card to prove it was not rigid enough. She damaged the card and then charged full flat rate shipping in addition to what had already been paid. That is really uncool. I have since redirected mail to a relative’s address and my shipments have not been intentionally bent / damaged nor have I been charged any extra fees.
The worst post office on the planet. The Asian worker named Jenny was so rude and unhelpful. I had the wrong zip code on my address slip and she made me get off the line and look it up myself and then wait on line again with the correct zip code. She said she couldn't look it up because they're were "too many zip codes." Of course she'll probably be named worker of the month because it is the post office.
USPS is great but someone give Ronnie a Cupcake. Hopefully he likes life a little better !
Incredibly rude employees and overall bad service.
Grumpy, unhelpful, rude Goverment Employees! Paid with our tax money... Good Luck.
