Very caring staff of receptionists, nurses, techs and doctors in the emergency room! Very prompt. Attended to my needs and went above and beyond with making sure I was taken care of. Happy to return should the need arise!
I was triaged quickly, but the lady, who I think was the doctor because she told me what the diagnosis was, but was there for maybe a minute, did not introduce herself. Never listened to my lungs, looked in my mouth, ears, nose, etc. I had pneumonia. Never saw the lady again, took an hour and a half after CT scan for the nurse to come in with release papers and take IV out. The radiology people were really nice. First nurse was nice the second shift change I guess wasn't.
I was recently hospitalized for several days with pancreatitis at U.T. Pitt. The ENTIRE staff, from Dr. Z, to every nurse, tech, etc that was involved with taking care of me were exceptional!! Thank you soo much Dr. Z, Haley, Mellissa, Donna, Arlene, Colin, and anyone else I might be forgetting, for going that extra mile to ensure I was healthy and good to go before releasing me. I can't thank you enough!!
This hospital is wonderful, all and everyone was very nice and very professional. Took care of all my needs and made me very comfortable with my health needs and wellbeing. I was sad to leave their care but needed further care so they transferred me to UT Tyler. Please thank each and everyone of them for caring for me so wonderfully
My kid was seen in ER in February. After insurance I owed about 4k. I’ve been paying about $500/month on bill. UT Health sent me to collections on the remaining balance of $400…which would have been paid in full this month! Really UT?? I’m paying my bill and you send me to collections?? I’m not saying UT is chicken s—t but they sure have henhouse ways!! Now my credit sucks! Thank you so much for being awesome UT!!
Burned my hand. Dr. Parks-Herndon, and the nurse Syndi in the ER were very nice. They were very delicate when treating the burn. I had alot of stupid questions about long term treatment, they answered all my questions. The Check in process was very fast.
Wonderful physicians and nurses. But the Billing department is a chaotic nightmare. I can't even express in words how dissatisfied and disappointment I am in the service the billing department provides. You can't even call it service. More like disservice. For over a year have we been going back and forth asking for our accounts to be corrected and payments being routed correctly. Apparently that is impossible. The staff answering the phone is also rude and will try to pawn you off to someone else who has no clue because they don't work for the billing department instead of taking care of the issue. Talk about bad patient care...the billing department is the prime example. for the record: we do not owe any money and it is not a dissatisfaction with the payments - we literally just need them to route them correctly and use the right accounts.
We've been there a few times for different things. This was for kidney stone and everyone was great, very nice and friendly. They found the stone when the image place in Mt Pleasant didn't when we went a week ago. They all seemed like they really cared during the morning shift.
15 June update: I received a call today from UT Pittsburg, more than two weeks after my initial review was posted. Today, I was informed they "overlooked" two CT orders when my initial CT was conducted. Before leaving, I specifically asked if three CTs were completed and I was told yes. Today, I was asked when I wanted to come in to have these tests completed. This oversight will likely delay surgery that is scheduled for Friday. This is incompetence and, based on my experiences at UT Pittsburg, I have no confidence in seeking medical care for myself or my loved ones from this facility. I was beyond disappointed with the level of care I received on Friday, 26 May. There was no attempt made by any staff member involved in my care to minimize unnecessary needle sticks. I was scheduled for a CT scan, which required contrast. An IV was necessary, which was fine and I had no problem with. However, instead of inserting an IV and obtaining blood from the IV start, I was stuck three times and a 10ml syringe was filled with blood for a simple creatinine level. The creatinine level from a CMP collected on Thursday, resulted on Friday, was rejected by UT. The veins that I pointed out that were good veins on my hands and forearm were ignored and instead it took three attempts to get blood after digging with the needle each time from a deep antecubital vein. When it was time for the CT scan, I was stuck an additional three times with digging each time without success. Staff suggested I consider returning the following week and have the procedure again. By this time, I had already been poked six times, which is inexcusable. Finally, an ultrasound was used to start an IV, which was thankfully successful. NO patient should be stuck seven times in less than 45 minutes. When an IV is needed for a procedure, start it at the beginning and spare your patient from unnecessary needle sticks and pain. The only two reasons this is not a one-star review is because: 1 the CT was read quickly; and 2 the check in process was quick and efficient. Paul Cline MSN, RN-BC
My dad was taken to the ER on 3/21/23. The whole visit was 5 stars from registration to transfer. Iris and Leslie were so professional, compassionate, and informative. We are lucky to have such a wonderful facility close to home.
