The UW Outdoor Program provides outings, programs and clinics for UW students, faculty and staff. We also rent outdoor equipment, run the indoor climbing wall, and bike shop.
The Outdoor Program (OP) was established in 1997 to provide a wide range of outdoor activities and programs at a variety of skill levels for the UW community. Participants have the opportunity to develop lifetime recreational skills, learn about safety and proper technique, gain an appreciation and concern for our natural environment, meet new people, and have a great time!
The Outdoor Program helps recruit and retain students, faculty and staff by providing a wide range of inclusive, safe, reasonably-priced outdoor programs and services to the UW community. We expose individuals to the natural environment, provide skill and leadership development opportunities, facilitate interactions and fun.
