VANIHCS was formed in 1995 by the integration of the VA Medical Centers in Fort Wayne and Marion, Indiana. The Fort Wayne Campus offers primary and secondary medical and surgical services, and the Marion Campus offers a full range of mental health, nursing home care, and extended care services. Primary care clinics are available at both medical center campuses and at Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) located in Mishawaka, Goshen, Peru and Muncie Indiana.

You have to see it to actually believe it!  The emergency room that is!  No identification badges, no intro, when they come into the room, you have to guess, whether it’s a nurse, or doctor, etc.  My medical records were maliciously falsified by the R.N. on duty & the physician openly admitted that, “Dis ting happened!”I was not examined.  There was no physical contact whatsoever, but my medical records said something totally different. If you go here, do not leave without the discharge note, you would be amazed at the lies & misrepresentations.  I have the highest regard for all medical professionals, & there are great staff,  but this nightmare is unreal.  I had to go back the next night & the doctor did not order an ultrasound even though she promised she would.  This is after being stuck 4xs for the required lab test.  She never called, never followed up with the order.  Just avoidance all across the board & the rooms are freezing, I had to beg for blankets after the 3rd needle stick, please bring a jacket or you will suffer.  The nurse with no badge drove the needle in my left hand, & was smiling, but the last nurse had a heart & cared about people & was highly skilled, compassionate & was successful within seconds.  My legs were not elevated for over 2hrs, but my condition required it.

They want you to arrive 15 minutes early to your appointment but made me wait over 30 minutes to find out the doctor was an hour behind scheduled. I had to reschedule because I didn't have enough time. Idk why they don't just tell you when you arrive they are running behind. They don't care about your time at this location.

Informative & Friendly staff...checked in...no waiting for flu & vaccine booster

I have been treated well, but sometimes there is major confusion about things, but overall they do a good job

Had to go to the ER on a Sunday.  Turns out I had a cracked rib. Staff was great. You can see in my pictures they are still under new construction.  The main entrance is open again.

I want to thank the medical staff at Ft Wayne VA. Service is professional, timely, and always respectful and courteous. It may take some time to get an appointment, but because of understaffing issues everywhere, that is common in civilian medical facilities as well. But when I am physically present in the VA facilities, the service I have personally received has consistently surpassed any civilian service I have experienced in the past. Thank you and kudos!

I just have to thank the overnight staff at the VA ER. I went in to the VA ER around 1:00am last night for unbearable pain in my SI joint. Treatment was timely and the staff was friendly. With their help I woke up Saturday morning feeling like a new person after 5 days of intense pain and no sleep. Now I will be alright until my pain management appt on Monday. Thank you VA staff.

My husband is a patient and I couldn’t be happier with the doctors and nurses. It is definitely like one big happy family. My husband keeps everyone running but they are so kind . I wish we could bring everyone home with us.

I've been going to this VA over 10 years as a patient with severe asthma. The ER was always great and at worst, good. For this and other issues, I've received great treatment. I think Women's Health is awesome. I've been impatient multiple times, and always received great respiratory care too. I also brought my dad here when he was still alive, and he never wanted to change his care or go anywhere else. I had a few issues, but went to the patient advocate who took care of resolving them quickly. They also pay for my biologic drug monthly $2500+ and it changed my life. They fast tracked my SSDI application too which was approved very very quickly, with no lawyer needed. I love my local VA.

Waiting since September 11 2015 from Face injury in Afghanistan to get my teeth fixed. If you want circles talked around you and constantly interrupted great place to go. You want your doctor to tell you good luck with your injuries because their permanent , good place to go.
