Varn Beach Park
"Varn Park is just a short drive north of Flagler Beach. The eight-acre park offers wheelchair access to the beach, plus restrooms with outdoor showers. The ample parking includes ADA-compliant spaces.Varn Park is an excellent spot for shorebird observation, as well as "line" birds, particularly scrub jays, that frequent overhead wires between the park north to the Matanzas Inlet. It is also a popular spot for surf fishing, and on most days fisherman can be seen casting for blues, whiting, flounder, and snapper, among others."

Dog friendly beach, as long as they are on a leash. We were the only people as far as the eye could see. There was a parking lot with a large restroom area. Other reviews said it was handicap accessible, which it may have been pre-hurricane. Now there are some fairly steep steps leading down to the beach. It was very quiet without any traffic noise. High tide so we didn’t find any shells. We did see a lot of birds.
Beautiful, quiet section of the beach. Offers parking and public restrooms. I don't know if it's dog friendly, but we definitely saw a few pups!
Really love this park, absolutely beautiful. However, be careful as the tide gets high. The new restoration has made the beach to short for spending long period of time for beach goers and fisherman. Watch the tides before you go and plan your trip to not be there two hours before high and the two hours of out going from high tide especially if you have a lot of gear.
Parking was easy In and easy out. The parking lot was directly off A1A and it had enough room to park my van and unload with 2 kids safely while still having plenty of room for the other incoming/outgoing vehicles to drive by. The restrooms were easily accessible however I did not need to use them so I am unsure of the conditions inside them. The stairs we used had a ramp up but did not have a ramp down so we couldn't use a wagon or wheelchair to get onto the beach however there was more than one point of access so there may have been one on one of the other ones. The beach was beautiful and not crowded at all. We did go on a Wednesday though so the weekend may be different crowd wise. We took our dog with us and this was his first trip to a beach and he loved it!! I highly recommend this location for families with kids and pets!! Great day and great experience!!
Good parking good shell collecting isn't the greatest. But the sea turtles nest are everywhere and that's beautiful
Varn park is no-nonsense, clean and efficient. The parking lot is long and thin so every parking spot is close to a walkover to beach. The parking lot is all concrete and the rest room facilities are modern and in the middle of the lot. Though it seems like a lesser known beach the fisherman love it and are there early in the morning and then the beach fills up with sunbathers and swimmers soon after.
My visit to Varn Park Beach was incredibly enjoyable. The cleanliness of the restrooms and the beach itself left a positive impression on me. It's not overly crowded with tourists; instead, it's mainly frequented by locals. I definitely plan on returning in the future.
One of the cleanest and spectacular beaches I've ever been to. Millions of shells on the ground, big n small. Clean n cold water, I could hear the sound of the waves, it was so peaceful being there. Just Lovely. Since I was traveling from NJ to Florida, I'm not used to seeing empty spaces. This beach was not at all busy, it felt like we're the only one at the Varn Park.
Love coming here. If you drive further south down A1A there are several small beach accesses that you can park on the opposite side of the road and get to. Never crowded down there. Then go back and use Varn Park for the showers.
This is one of my favorite stretches of beach along the Atlantic, Florida. It's just north of Flagler, great town with friendly peoples, and it's just a really great place to bring your dog, kids, whatever and spend the afternoon.
