VCU/MCV Family Practice Residency Program
The Chesterfield Family Medicine Residency Program is a community based program closely affiliated with the
Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine.
This partnership of community and university combines educational resources which form the basis for an excellent training experience for the residents. Family medicine residents are the only residents at CJW Medical Center and therefore have the advantage of one on one teaching with Family Medicine and Sub specialty Attending Physicians. The residents have a large volume of experience with the patients at this busy medical center and a structured didactic program. The program is affiliated with the nearby VCU School of Medicine which provides assistance with didactic, faculty support and development and elective opportunities for residents. Electives include rotations at their HIV clinic and with their international medicine programs and others.
