Huge park with gorgeous landscaping and beautiful statues. I strongly recommend you enter via one of the free side entrances, avoiding the crowds at the main Palace entry. We rented a boat for half an hour and that was a lot of fun it cost 14 Euro. You can also rent bikes and golf carts to tour the park. Overall, a beautiful place that is well worth a visit.
I have to say that I’m a little bit disappointed in Versailles gardens. First of all, there is not much benches, and even lesser trash cans. And if there are, they are overloaded which doesn’t look nice. Many fountains are turned off, which takes off all the beauty. There is no place to fill up the bottles, in July it was sunny and hot, and one bottle wasn’t enough. However this is still worth checking out, to see that enormous palace and its gardens, see the power and richness of the place
Very nice place to take a stroll in and have a picnic. There are definitely better gardens in France, but if you combine this with the palace it's a must see if you're visiting Paris. If you just want to see the garden you might want to try some other gates besides the central one, as the line is huge as hell.
Beautiful park. They should make it clear when other gates are closed. We were almost locked in the park while exhausted waking between different gates. Only the queen's gate last the latest.
The garden is massive and a lot to walk, but in such a spring season just the green plants no tulips, no flowering plants. The small places inside the garden were good.
At first we felt ripped of as we came on musical gardens day, which was not on schedule. But then, ultimately, it was a superior experience compared to the chateau itself. And seeing the fountains flow made a difference. The parc is cleverly designed so even on a hot day, you get shade. Take a lot of water. Worth a trip.
Beautiful and enormous, the park is dog friendly so it’s a great choice for dog owners who want to walk their loved ones It is free of charge, there are several cafes so you can grab your drink and just chill on the grass or hire a boat if you fancy a bit more action.
A great place for a stroll, with exquisitely manicured plant landscapes and resplendent fountains. There are also enthusiastic and humorous French young people. It would be a huge pity if you haven't been here!
Just a warning but be sure to know when the musical gardens are going on. This would mean buying a ticket for the gardens. Other days, entry is free. However, the musical gardens play baroque classical music so it adds to the ambiance of the gardens overall. The gardens are expansive enough you can get parts of it to yourself.
the bike tour is really nice! I think riding the bike through the garden is the best idea of visiting! most road surface are friendly for cycling! it's quite a leisure, relaxing place
