Veterans Memorial Park of Kentucky unveils bronze markers each year around Memorial Day. The markers serve to remind us of our veterans, especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice to preserve our American freedoms. The Park also provides military education to our community and importantly, to our youth.
Veterans Memorial Park of Kentucky is designed to foster reflection, education and inspiration. A path leads visitors past plantings, benches and trees enhancing two types of markers: those with historical information about wars & campaigns where Americans fought and died; and those that includes inspirational quotes and the names of Oldham County residents who died in combat.
Veterans Memorial Park of Kentucky is unlike most parks found in the United States. Meant to be interactive and functional as a community gathering place, Veterans Memorial Park is to youth, community members, visitors and all who pass by an education and living reminder of those veterans who served and sacrificed for our American freedoms.
