Veterinary Surgery Center of Sarasota is a brand new, state-of-the-art veterinary surgery center located in University Park of Sarasota/Bradenton. We specialize in small animal veterinary surgery and rehabilitation. At VSC, our staff is committed to providing the highest level of client services by offering individualized attention and compassionate care to all of our clients and patients. Together with your primary veterinarian, your pet will receive the most comprehensive care available.

This place is heavenly. The time, care and attention from every staff member was so moving. I was a disaster leaving my fur child, Loki for his knee surgery. They were so patient with me and SO kind to our only child. This was worth a higher cost compared to the first quote from a vet who was not so warm. Now, how soon can our Doc replace my knee?!?! Thank you, Veterinary Surgery Center!!!!!! #grateful
We were referenced Veterinary Surgery Center because my dog had a tumor with cancer cells. Dr. Rose and staff were amazing . The first day home after his procedure, the office was just a phone call or text away which I used many times. Every time I reached out with worry or questions I would get an answer. This made me feel someone really cared about my dog and how I was feeling. It is now 3 weeks later and I still am able to call or text the office for information. I would highly recommend this Surgery Center if need be. They are the best.
My puppy came in with a fractured tibia and four weeks later walked out completely healed. Dr. Rose is wonderful explains everything and the staff is just incredible. I can’t say enough about how great my experience was. Aspen says thank you.
Dr. Scott Rose and his staff are excellent! No one wants to visit their vet for unexpected reasons! But if you need to, this is the place! Dr. Rose was very descriptive about the procedure that needed to be done on my dog. He answered all my questions and concerns! Also, when they put him under Anastasia, they found something else, in which Dr. Rose notified me of right away before continuing! The staff there is incredible, too! They were there for him all night as he recovered and kept in touch with me the whole time! It's such a nice sense of security to have when your pet is in someone else's hands!! Thank you, Dr. Rose and staff! I appreciate you all!
My golden retriever, a service dog, ate some things he should not have. This wasn’t his first incident it was his third. The difference this time was that I landed at the best surgery center. The staff really cared, and I mean more about me and my dog than running every credit card I had. The service was top notch and Dr Rose, our board certified surgeon, took excellent care of my best friend. If you’ve ever been in this situation before, you’ll understand what I mean. These people really made the effort for me. The kicker was staff volunteering to go in on a weekend they were closed, so my dog could get the special care he needed. If you love your pet, this is a place you can feel safe leaving him/her. Finally, the bill was reasonable!
The care and genuine concern of my dog from the second we walked in was phenomenal! Dr Rose is the most caring dr/surgeon I have met since living in fla. I can not say enough good things and I was only there for 1 visit. Unfortunately my baby girl Gates didnt make the next visit. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone.
My recent experience at Veterinary Surgery Center was nothing short of a nightmare. As someone who deeply cares for their pet’s well-being, this experience left me profoundly disappointed and upset. My dog’s life means the world to me, and I went to great lengths to ensure he received the best care, only to be let down in every way possible. The staff, including Maggie, Jenny, and Ashley, displayed a shocking lack of basic knowledge and professionalism. Simple tasks, such as sending my dog’s medical records via email, proved to be a monumental challenge for them. Dr. Rose’s bedside manner was not just unimpressive; it was downright distressing. He pressured us into an expensive cat scan without providing adequate confirmation of my dog’s condition, leaving us in the dark. Trying to get in touch with the office to obtain results was an ordeal, and when we finally managed it, Dr. Rose’s explanation was abrupt and discourteous. To compound the issue, the report Dr. Rose provided was riddled with errors, misspellings, and inaccuracies. Blaming me and my husband for ‘talking fast’ was unprofessional and unacceptable. What’s even more disheartening is the exorbitant prices charged by this hospital for such subpar service. I was more than willing to invest in my dog’s health, but the level of care we received simply did not justify the costs. During a time when my two-year-old dog was rapidly losing weight and desperately needed help, this hospital made me feel like an inconvenience. This reached a low point when I was labeled ‘condescending’ in our last conversation. In the end, I paid for tests, pokes, and examinations, only to feel left on my own to figure out my dog’s health. As a pet owner who deeply values the well-being of my furry companion, I am devastated by this experience and would strongly advise against seeking care at Veterinary Surgery Center.

From the initial phone call through the 1st visit and follow up the prevailing attitude of care and compassion rang true. Professional in all interactions and quick to respond. The office is clean and inviting. I felt very comfortable with the Dr. And his entire staff. Surgery Tuesday, fingers crossed.
One of my dogs has had to see Dr. Rose on two separate occasions. Once was for a fractured leg and most recently for a torn ACL. I have had the best experiences with this office. They are very organized and professional and I appreciate the time that they take to go through every step of the process. I have one other dog to get through a minor surgery with them and then I hope I don’t have to see them again for a long while but I know if I do it will be another great experience.
