This is really a good museum. I would heavily recommend it. Its clean, the displays are laid out very well. Perhaps the records and documents don't need to be hidden behind a drug store? But other than that, it tells the story of the county really well and honors those who were one of the first in. I love the exhibit about immigrants, as well as the exhibit for first responders. The coke bottles are excellent and I love the mock up recreation of the factory.
I loved my visit. The displays are so well done! Plenty to see and very enjoyable. The gift shop was fun too with very reasonable in the prices.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$6–10
Love the new Historical Museum. The displays are amazing, and its so much more accessible and organized than before. I dont like that Stiffy Green is in the dark, even though I know its supposed to be interactive. Really wish the horror section was larger, but the research center and all the recreations of old buildings is so cool. Staff is fantastic and love the gift shop! Highly recommend a visit.
We loved out visit to the new Terre Haute History Museum with my family. I enjoyed sharing our rich history with my little girl and for her to learn all about my hometown. Our favorite part of the visit was Stiffy Green.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$6–10

Definitely a must see if you’re a Coke fan. Overall a nice collection that took about an hour to see. It wasn’t busy at all and there was some interesting artifacts. The staff could’ve been friendlier but overall this is a very good quality county museum and history buffs will enjoy it.
We have been to this museum twice, the second time was their "Night at the Museum" fundraiser so cool. It is just a wonderful display of the area's history coupled with a great, positive atmosphere. Vigo County is proud of their history, and it shows!Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
Diverse museum in downtown terre haute, dealing with anything Vigo county. Exhibits include cars, portraits, railway artifacts, and a bulldog named stiffy green. Also, the coke bottle was invented in terre haute and it is a big deal.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$6–10
I hadn't been to the museum since it was in the big house and I was impressed. Many things moved with it including Punch, Stiffy Green, and the totem pole that was outside. It brought back a lot of memories from when I used to go with my grandma. My kids enjoyed it also.
This is a must visit. The beautiful educational displays draw you into the rich history of Vigo County. The building also has it own rich history. Please take the time and visit this gem.
