The Village of Hanover Park is a dynamic and diverse community with over 38,500 residents, conveniently located 17 miles west of O’Hare International Airport, and a short trip from the Hanover Park Metra Station to downtown Chicago. Hanover Park was initially known as Ontarioville, which grew as a thriving community in the mid-to-late 1800s when a stagecoach line brought people from distant towns to the area. As the railroad built up, so did our town. Housing in Hanover Park has kept up with its population growth, which has more than tripled in size since 1970. While its roots as a settlement reach back into the 19th century, our growth into a community of nearly 12,000 families really started in the 1950's. Today, Hanover Park is a true family-oriented community that has some of the youngest residents of Chicago’s northwest suburbs with a median resident age of 33.

Hanover Park offers a great quality of life means with always something to do! Take advantage of amazing recreational facilities like Seafari Springs Aquatic Center which offers a zero-depth pool, 4 water slides, and a waterfall. Enjoy a baseball or football game at the Hanover Park Sports Complex or workout at Centre Courte Athletic Club at the Hanover Park Park District featuring services and facilities for tennis, racquetball, health and fitness. We encourage our residents to join the many neighborhood sports teams and check out the variety of community activities for all ages such as the Car and Motorcycle Show, Touch-a-truck, COPS Day Picnic, and our holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony. The Mallard Lake Forest Preserve or Hawk Hallow Forest Preserve are great places for the whole family to enjoy a walk, run, bike ride or simply take time to relax.

Our welcoming and pro-business attitude leads to a vibrant business environment, encompassing over 400 businesses with 4.6 million square feet of industrial development and over 1 million square feet of commercial retail and office space. Our community’s low commercial and industrial vacancy rates can be directly attributed to our great geographic location. In fact, Hanover Park is part of "The Golden Corridor," which is appropriately named because of its phenomenal rate of growth. Businesses that have taken advantage of Hanover Park’s great location and pro-business climate includes: Maines Paper and Food, Thermal Fischer Scientific, Fuji Film, Insight Technologies, Round Ground Metals (RGM), and Camcraft. Hanover Park is also home to major retailers such as Menards, Tony’s Finer Foods, Caputo’s Fresh Market, Harbor Freight, as well as a wide variety of small family-owned businesses and restaurants. Our lively economy and excellent quality of life is directly attributed to our great transportation system. Hanover Park offers easy access to the Elgin-O’Hare Expressway/IL-390, contains three active PACE Bus Routes, has seven regional arterials run through and boasts the third busiest Metra Train Stop on the Milwaukee District West line

Hanover Park is a welcoming community, with quality services from municipal, non-profit and community-based organizations. Hanover Park partnered with the Elgin Community College, Harper College, the Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership to establish the Education and Work Center (EWC) to expand educational and employment opportunities to our residents. We suggest that you visit our Veterans Memorial that adorns the Hanover Park Municipal Complex as our community truly honors and respects our nation’s veterans. Hanover Park is rated as a Top 100 Safest City in America with a nationally accredited Police Department. Our Fire Department was awarded the rare Insurance Services Office (ISO) Class 2 rating. Hanover Park is a safe place to live, work and play in!

In summary, so many businesses and residents call Hanover Park home because of a variety of housing choices, easy access to not only recreational facilities but also highways, trains and bus routes, a great labor force and our Village’s AA bond rating. We are a Village that looks forward to offering a variety of lifestyle choices to every walk of life. Our village truly celebrates our heritage and diversity as proudly displayed in our slogan, “One Village, One Future”.

The Metra station uses space numbers to park your car. If Hanover Park weren't trying to tax us through unnecessary parking tickets, they would use your license plate for parking because of course you'd remember that. Everyone else uses license plates Roselle, Barrington, Schaumburg. I learned my lesson: go to Roselle, go to Schaumburg, but absolutely avoid HP and their parking tickets
They are thief's. The patrol lady Cassandra Arreola keeps harassing Elderly couple. They've lived at there residence for years and all of the sudden this Arreola girl immature keeps trying to fine them for things they've never even been warned of.
There has been a leak at the rental where I live for over a year, but the city worker says her hands are tied because she can't contact the owner. Another of example of an unhelpful worker is whoever was at the desk at the city hall. I dropped off a water bill. I asked if everything was okay and he said yes. A week later my water is suddenly not working. After finally contacting the right person on the phone it turns out I had mistakenly written the check for something like $95 instead of $98, so they just shut of the water. Instead of looking for me at city hall or calling me to fix it. Also, things will break in the parks and it will be ages before they are repaired.
HANOVER PARK IS A RACIST CITY. Do not mover here this just happened with me and my boyfriend. THEY HAVE PROFILED HIM AND HIS FAMILY FOR YEARS! DO NOT COME HERE. The towns so broke they pull you over 700000000x to make up for you then profile you so they can kick you again
I walked in at 8:00 a.m. this morning to a rude representative. It's very sad that she wasn't even embarrassed with the way she was acting. It is extremely embarrassing I have lived in Hanover Park for several years and the one day that I need help I have to deal with that. I reached out to manager Linda. Update: I signed up from Auto pay and felt with Sara who over looked the Application and voided check sent with all the other applications. I then receive a termination letter. Hanover park refuses a one time late fee in the past in my past residence yet they have no problems making errors on their end. Her "sorry" sounded like she was forced to say it. Unacceptable.
An awful place, infinitely grateful I don't live here anymore. A "village" that's too corrupt to be a town, but too small to be a city, Hanover Park is a pioneer in code enforcement. They'll ticket you for your car being in the road one inch specifically they'll ticket you for being in the sidewalk again, by one inch. They'll ticket you for your grass being too high. And when you get enough tickets, they'll start coming to your street in particular! Road work in Hanover Park is insufficient. They'd rather band-aid the road using tar snakes instead of just patching it. I think in some neighborhoods, you could take a picture of the road looking down, and it would be mistaken for an abstract painting. I remember living here, the road snakes would sometimes pop up and be left on the side of a road, no road cleaning in sight. Records requests are treated with contempt. I recall having to get a water bill to prove residency and the person refused to hand it over. I had to send a FOIA request to get one. The militaristic and I'm not exaggerating here conduct of a certain long-time president of the village, demonstrated in Labor Day parades, is very off-putting. It serves as a stark contrast to the neighboring communities, of whom generally do far better job than the Village of Hanover Park. Don't live here.
I've never experience such horrific service. Not only did I fear for my life but yet for my helpless 2 year daughter. Not only did she verbal attack me in front my child yet in front of her coworker other customers. All started because simply walked into the wrong office and ask her to direct me to right office while she was directing she was flicking me off. As I was getting my things together I mentioned to her that she was using the wrong finger to direct people. Her response was I was uneducated Minority and I have mental issue and I needed help. You would thing it would stop there but then she went out of her office to came slander my name in very aggressive manner then she decided to go back to her office to then come find me again to give me print paper of finger body language while she shoved my uncle and daughter out of the way to put the paper in front of my face. Everyone there was a witness As apalled as i was so was her coworkers. I never been to workplace that condones bulling even more to there customers. Horrible environment avoid it all costs. To the Native American who attack me the only uneducated person here is you and the person who hired such horrific human beings. If I could give no stars I would.
You can NEVER get ahold of anyone- the website to "apply for online payments" is a JOKE. When I do call they won't help. They can only send termination bills and when they do answer the phone it's usually a cranky woman who says go to web page and then the website SUCKS. I HATE LIVING IN HANOVER PARK
terrible , you can't get hold of anyone in village, terrible service , careless, and extremely rude . People if you don't want to work quit your job , there is plenty of nice people looking for work , I am waiting for permit for almost 4 weeks, terrible service ,BUT when they need to charge you for something example Christmas lights not taking down oh they are to fast , or anything else that they need your money . Terrible terrible terrible !!!!!!
Everyone was very friendly. We just moved into Hanover Park and setting up the water/sewage took maybe 5 minutes.
