So wonderful and vintage! The seats are bit bouncy, but that's expected of an older theater!
It's a beautiful, restored historic theater. So unique from the huge cineplexes. There is one medium sized screening room and 2 very small screening rooms, so they are usually offering 3 different movies at a time. Best to buy tickets in advance, especially for popular movies. There's a matinee daily that is less expensive and also a senior discount. Concessions aren't that great - expensive and not the tastiest. I would like them to find a better way of letting people with tickets inside before the movie. People waiting line up haphazardly on the sidewalk, and it gets chaotic. When it's busy, it's hard to figure out who's in line for tickets and who's in line waiting to be let inside and for which movie. Overall, I do recommend the theatre for the intimate, vintage feel vs. the big movie multiplexes.
My wife attended Village Theater’s Sat kiddie matinees during the 50’s. We enjoyed movies as locals during the 80’s, despite the theater’s deferred maintenance conditions. Mourned its shuttered years when returning to Coronado for family visits. Delighted in its magnificent resurrection when again becoming Coronado residents. Anybody who experienced the American neighborhood theaters of the previous century, knows the jewels they were and appreciates this fine gem.
Popcorn was bad Seats very uncomfortable. The seat of the chair could bend all the way forward and back had no adjustments. I'm certain if someone were to sit in front of me their head would have obstructed the bottom of the movie screen.
This is a smaller movie theater in the heart of Coronado California. It was built in 1947 I believe and it has a main screening room that holds a good amount of people and 2 smaller rooms that hold 34 people each. I love the vintage feel and the popcorn is really good.
This Art Deco experience lends to a beautiful event for traditional movie goers. For an islander it’s convenience is unparalleled. I am always looking ahead for my next best movie on the silver screen in this magical place.
Intimate, quaint place. Theater we were in seats 40 people. Picture and sound quality were perfect and watching beautiful curtain roll up before movie was quite an experience for my 14 year old and I. Very tasteful.
Beautifully restored to a bygone era! Lots of leg room and reasonably priced. Worth a visit!!
Love the vintage feel with a little renovation. They have updated the chairs, theatre not too crowded.
This theatre is quiet and very nice. Small theatre in beautiful city.
