The Viola Gibson Elementary PTA was established during the summer of 2002. Its goal was to successfully combine the parents, students, and teachers of many different schools into a unified community known as Viola Gibson Elementary. Today, our focus is to further develop our ability to involve families in their child's/children's education.
Our meetings are held the 2nd Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m (starting in September 2017). We strive to make our meetings inviting, relaxing, informative, interactive, and efficient. We make use of a CONSENT AGENDA that allows the general PTA membership to make a motion on a group of items all at once if no additional discussion is required. We want to offer an experience that allows parents to be more active in and informed about their children's education and their school. We will have guest speakers at most meetings discussing a variety of topics. And please....JOIN YOUR PTA. Parent and family involvement has a positive effect on student achievement, behavior, cultural diversity, and school quality.
