Health Professions Advising [HPA] at Virginia Tech assists students and alumni pursuing a health care career in medicine, dentistry, optometry, pharmacy, chiropractic, occupational therapy, nursing, physician’s assistant, veterinary medicine, or other graduate health professions.
For whom:
Any Virginia Tech student, alumnus or alumna, in any major, can use our services. Although the majority of health professions students major in a science field, it is not required.

Attend an Information Session:
We have a number of information sessions and events throughout the year. We highly suggest attending an HPA 101:General Information or HPA 202: The Competitive Applicant session before scheduling an appointment with an HPA advisor. You can find the schedule of events on our website
