100% volunteer fire department.
Organized Sept. 1927, the Liberty Borough Volunteer Fire Department is located approximately ten miles south of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Sitting between the Monongahela and Youghiogheny rivers, we primarily serve a one square mile area protecting 3,000 residents. The department also responds to surrounding communities, which triples the amount of residences protected. We are an all-volunteer department comprised of 40 highly trained firefighters, vehicle rescue technicians and emergency medical technicians. We respond to an average of almost 200 fire related calls a year and also provides a first responder program, assisting Elizabeth Township Area Emergency Medical Service on many calls.
To preserve and protect the life, health and property of the residents of Liberty Borough from fire, disaster and emergency incidents through education, training, prevention and preparation.
