The staff here is wonderful however, Dr. Luke Johnson is not. I have had very extensive work over the span of several years abs his bed side manner became less and less existent with each visit. He's too aggressive for my taste. I have seen other dentist since then and the difference in experiences is night and day. I'm usually pretty quiet during painful moments in my dental care however, on one occasion I experienced a great deal of pain that made me yelp several times. He did not take his hands out of my mouth to see if an analgesic or aesthetic would help remedy my pain but instead told me to, "quiet down, I have a patient in the next room." I was more shocked at this response more than anything I've ever experienced in his office. So, no, I would not recommend this dentist to anyone as he is more concerned for his reputation than the care of his clients.
Coming to the dentist has always caused a certain amount of anxiety for me due to bad experiences in the past but all that changed when I visited Dr. Luke's practice. I felt welcomed and cared for from the moment I scheduled my first appointment until I left the chair after treatment. I do not usually write reviews for anything or anyone but having a positive dental experience coupled with being treated like a real person is worth taking the time to do so. If you have ever had a traumatic dental experience please do yourself a favor and make an appointment with Dr. Luke. You will be glad you did.
I am a first time patient and when I called I got set up a cleaning appointment next day! Other places had a wait until September! Super friendly staff and Dr. Johnson is amazing! They are very understanding and it feels like home. Will definitely stick to this Dentist!
This guy needs to retire!!! I went there because he takes my insurance. How bad can he be? Well I had a small piece of a filling break off.Went in to get it checked out & hopefully patch it back. He says no. If we do that it may crack off again and take part of the tooth etc. Talked me into a crown. I get home & realize he did the wrong tooth!!! I call & the girl says "Well Dr Johnson looked at the Ex Rays & felt the tooth beside it needed a crown more??? He never mentioned a word about this to me. $1250.00 and he does the wrong tooth! The crown he did looks like a temporary tooth. And now I still need a crown on the tooth he didn't fix! Needless to say I have found another dentist and won't be going back.
Dr. Johnson had been my dentist since I have been in the Greensboro area. He has cleaned my teeth, added Crowns, taken care of assorted dental issues for my family for over 30 years. I remember there was a time where I had a family emergency and he brought us in on the weekend. No charge. The staff is professional and courteous and Dr. Johnson a top notch professional. He messed up my mouth bad when he pulled my wisdom teeth. I went in on a Thursday to get a consultation and he wanted to pull them right then and there. I asked him don't I need a driver and he said "I guess if you feel like you do." I told him I would schedule for the next day since I need to be put down. Went in with a driver the next day and all this jokester did was numb my mouth with novacain! He didn't even put me under! Now I am no professional but I heard getting wisdom teeth pulled is a pretty serious surgery. I felt everything while he took my teeth out because he was so rough! I was wide awake and terrified at 30 years old! I was bruised, swollen and couldn't eat anything but soft foods for a couple of months afterwards! I have told everyone I know to avoid this guy!
I have been with Dr Johnson for over 30 years and have my original crowns. He does wonderful work; is kind, knowledgeable and has a staff of highly qualified excellent people.
I have been thoroughly pleased with my visits to Dr. Johnson. The staff has been very pleasant and Dr. Johnson is an excellent dentist. Thanks to all of you for your patience.
Both my wife and I have trusted Dr Johnson and his courteous staff with our dental health care for several years. We now reside in Raleigh, but choose to drive to Greensboro to continue with this relationship.
We absolutely love coming to this dentist. My son and I have both been coming here for years and the staff is like family. Everyone is friendly and we wouldn't go anywhere else
