Amazing chapel designed by Tiffany studios to complement the centerpiece Tiffany window. This site alone is worth going to Cleveland to see. Don’t miss this!!
Stunning! Please take a moment for the guide to share its history! Stunning!
If you're at all interested in the works of Louis Comfort Tiffany, then you must stop by this gorgeous chapel. The centerpiece, called The Journey of Souls is stunning, and the entire chapel is essentially a Tiffany art piece. Either side of the chapel is covered floor to ceiling in mother of pearl mosaics depicting the Old and New Testaments and they're stunning. They usually have a curator to explain different things and both times I've gone, they were very kind and knowledgeable. This is not something that should be missed if you find yourself in this gorgeous garden cemetery.
An absolute jewlbox located in one of the most beautiful rural cemeteries in the world. Designed by legendary interior design firm Tiffany Studios, the chapel interior features exquisite mosaic tilework on every surface, with every part contributing to a single overall theme, a spectacular stained glass window. There was a helpful guide in the chapel to explain the many details, but a couple fun facts: The monumental 700lb. lanterns were carved from a single block of alabaster. The entire workforce was women, not in a progressive action years ahead of its time but because Louis Tiffany thought only women had nimble-enough hands.
Wow a must see place for Cleveland! Petronilla and Ginny are absolutely wonderful! Thank you so much for your time and hospitality.
The interior features two mosaics on the right and left hand walls, and a large stained glass window. Wade Memorial Chapel was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 18, 1973.

The Wade Chapel is almost always staffed by a knowledgeable docent. The mosaics and stained glass window are spectacular and worth the time to learn about their symbolism and creation.
