This is truly an astonishing museum. I passed through Hartford many times over the past few decades and always wanted to stop in but somehow never had the time. I was delighted on a recent rainy Saturday to actually get inside for the first. So much to see here I don't know where to start. They have so much amazing art here. After a few hours seeing so much when I was leaving I noticed a short-film festival was about to start....so I went and it was great. I live in the cultural wasteland known as Florida. I envy anyone who's within 100 miles of this place you are very lucky to have this cultural resource at your disposal.
Beautiful exhibits. Map is a lot easier to follow than when I visited years ago. Somehow we missed things last time but not this time around. Also ate at the café which was delicious.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot surePrice for adult entry$16–20
The staff were nice, the exhibitions were excellent. My only issue at one point was not enough signage to find a restroom but then I happened upon one. Definitely visit this treasure of a place!
First time visiting after its expansion. Friendly staffs, so many things to see. Need to review museum map first in order to navigate its exhibits. Or just wander around for fun since there are so many tiny hidden spots!!Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$16–20
Nicely spaced out artworks, nice comfortable theatre, and jazz troupe to boot! The structure is quite large and clearly from another time. Speaking of, they had deconstructed and reconstructed exactly a period room from like the 1600s which was impressive. The pictures here were from a cradle and chair- more with expensive American woodwork from ages ago.
I had a wonderful time participating in the Flowers & Fine Art weekend at The Wadsworth. If you ever have a chance to go in the future, absolutely do it! I also loved being able to host my Wood & Word Blooms wood flower workshop during this event. Being able to create art amongst art is so inspiring!
Beautiful museum. Great place to spend time in Hartford. The collection was very extensive. Come after 4 pm and it was free admission. I gotta say 1 hr wasn't enough to explore this museum. I learned a lot about art around the world. The staffs were knowledgeable and very friendly. The shop sell cute souvenirs.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot surePrice for adult entryFree
Came here because it was a suggested thing to do. It is absolutely beautiful inside. The art and different exhibits are just beautiful. If you love and appreciate art, or just a newbie like us, cpme visit here. The building is huge, with tons of rooms you can get lost in. The staff there are wonderful and are eager to answer questions. Highly recommend
We were in Hartford for a wedding and had a couple of hours, so we visited the Wadsworth. We wish we had more. It's a fine museum and next time we'll allocate more time.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$21–30
This was a great museum to visit. The classical and modern artwork on display was awesome. I also enjoyed the exhibits on display, as well. The docents/students around the galleries were helpful and informative also.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYesPrice for adult entry$11–15
