Mission

"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not turn from it."
Proverbs 22:6

The mission of Walnut Grove Christian School is to provide its students with an academic and spiritual education in a Christian environment established on the written and living Word of God, the Bible.

The mission of WGCS, based on Christian values, may be presented in two basic ways. The first precept is to provide the children of this school with the knowledge of a Christian life through God's Word. Our goal is to provide an excellent academic education, which encourages high moral character. All students who attend WGCS are required to attend chapel once a week at which time they receive teachings from one of the pastors of Walnut Grove Assembly of God or from guest speakers. The children are required to participate in Bible curriculum during class time each day with the objective being to provide each student with a workable knowledge of God's Word through reading the Bible.

The second precept of the school is to encourage each child's growth on a personal basis in their Christian life. Although it is our prayer that each child continually grow in their personal walk with Jesus Christ, it must be stated that no child will be coerced to participate in spiritual activities. Children are encouraged to pray for others. However, no child will be forced to pray or feel ashamed if they do not participate. They are encouraged through the example of the teachers and through the other children in the class who want to participate. As Jesus gives each and every one of us the freedom to accept or reject Him, it is the policy of this school not to force doctrinal issues on any child. The school will however, present the Gospel to each child with the hope that they will respond in a positive way to salvation through Jesus Christ.

Our aim for the children of this school is to provide them with the wisdom and tools that they will need to meet the challenges facing young people in today's society. Our aspiration is to encourage our students to become productive adults who will further the kingdom of God by their example.

When my husband and I started looking at schools to send our children to, we were essentially choosing who we would be partnering with in raising our children. We chose Walnut Grove Christian School and are so happy we did! The staff and teachers offer the essential level of nurturing, educational stimulation, and spiritual growth that will help our children to be successful in the future. My children were involved in Bible Quiz, soccer, flag football, and Chess Club. They also participated in talent shows, wax museums, and science fairs. I recommend Walnut Grove Christian School!
My oldest graduated from WGCS and my son will be graduating this year. They have received an amazing education here and have been loved by the entire staff and teachers. That is why we have made an easy decision to send our youngest two there again. In a few years we will have 4 graduates from Walnut Grove. Best decisions we have ever made.
My children have both attended here since pre-school. The teachers are FANTASTIC! The school itself is a Christian School that uses the A-Beka system for educating the students. It is great to see my children do so well in school and in life. The nurturing environment, discipline, and rigorous educational format here builds leaders not followers. Success is measured by achievement and these children achieve a lot. With the school year coming to an end soon, I am sad to say that my children will be unable to return next year as we have moved too far away for the commute 25 miles each way. Though well worth the effort and travel it is difficult on them and my vehicles haha. If you aske me would I recommend this school? I would say “YES!” If you asked me what is the best part of the school? I would have to say it is the dedicated teachers and staff that ensure the safety, well-being, education, and future of our children. If you asked me is it worth it? I would say “YES!” Improvements are being made to the school and the addition of a “New and Updated” Computer Lab and the addition of the Computer Science courses for K though 6th grade, the students here will be full STEAM ahead and ready for the next steps in their education and their futures.
My nieces and nephew attend and are thriving!
