Of all the many many maaaany times I’ve gone to Wanamaker park, this is my first gator sighting there exciting but also super scary! Thankfully he didn’t even come after me it was a lovely day albeit super hot and humid for a walk on a shady trail and to let the kids run and play on a shady playground. Playground: A good size, sort of spread out and almost all of it shaded! Picnic area: Tons of picnic tables, grills, great area for celebrations!
This Waterpark was a must do for us while visiting from out of town. Tickets are a bit pricey so if you live in the area season passes are a good idea if you plan on going more than 2 times during the season. The park itself also has a splash pad, playground, and BBQ areas.
Took my wife, my Son's family and my Grandson to the Whirling Waters Water park located here. We had a great time! The price of admission wasn't overly expensive. Plenty of slides and all sorts of water related things to do while here. Park ran by the Charleston County parks. Good place to take your family and children. Come early because during the summer months good deal of people are coming here. Would recommend checking out this park!
Older lady with blonde/gray uncombed hair should not be working at the entrance. She screamed at me and my husband to turn around and leave. We didn’t even get to ask why the park was closed. Latin American Festival We didn’t even speak to anyone before she screamed at us. Been going to this park for 20 years, never had this happen. We ended up at Ashley River Park which turned out to be the better choice anyways.
First off there is a fee of 2.00 per person or a County Park pass is available on site which allows free access to all Charleston County Parks. I like to read after work before going home. The place I have been going is free but limited parking and zero shade. On the water which is nice and a tidal river that is more interesting. The contrast is this: two short trails there. One is a board walk on the Ashley River that I like. That is all you have other than the boat ramp. Here there is a seasonal water park that has a separate cost I believe. It is nice, for sure. Then a dog park, disc golf course and parking galore. Shelters and such I am sure you can rent for Birthdays for the kids and more I have yet to see. It is North Charleston, you can hear a hum of cars in the distance but really peaceful. All the secluded parking areas is a bonus. Still exploring but after a long day well worth two dollars to me.
Was in town for a family reunion. The staff is exceptional, and the kids had a blast on the water.
One of my favorite local county parks. They have so many nice trails to explore nature in. The playground is nice if you have younger ones. Also it has alot of green space to be utilized for any events or meet ups
Best dog park I've ever been to. They also have a dog splash park. Huge park, nice tall fences. Benches to sit on, bathrooms, a dog wash station costs money , dog fountain, trash cans, dog poop bag stations, and there's trails you can walk among other things nearby. A must see.
This is an amazing park for all sorts of activities. From renting bikes or paddleboats, to hiking, a cool waterpark, Frisbee gold and dog friendly! I really enjoy this park and it's serene feel. Can be loud and crowded at times but still a great experience! Cost around 2$ to park but worth every penny!
Was upset we couldn't stay longer they closed due to weather. My kids had so much fun
