My grandma was at this center a couple months back, please do NOT take your time loved one here unless you want them to be neglected, my family had to constantly ask for different nurses for her because of the negligence, lack of intelligence, and lack of being a good human being. She got worse being in their hands then she was in the beginning, this place should be shut down.
The staff was very professional and worked very well together and provided excellent care. In my case, it wasn't uncommon for the nurses to work past their normal hours to assist in my care. Professionally it is an excellent care facility. My room was very clean as well as the hospital overall. Meals weren't a high light and I thought less appetizing than expected.
I've been here for two weeks now 8/6/2017 and my stay is just about over, what can I say about this place, first I don't want to be here but who does, anyway the nurses, nursing assistants, and staff were just so great very Carrying to me and my family day and night as my wife or one of my girls stayed with me almost every night from getting them pillows, blankets, towels so they can shower and even snacks, I've been in for two weeks of IV antibiotics for an infection and every time they gave me a medication they let me know what they were given me and what it was for. I just cannot say enough about The nurses and nurses assistance if I had to rate them it would be a 10 out of 10 they made me feel very welcome talking with my when I down and home sick. If I had recommend a place for someone to go to the long term this would be at the top of my list, I JUST CANNOT SAY ENOUGH ABOUT MY NURSES.
We had a very bad experience there. Thank god he was only there for 7 days. He went in with C-Diff and after a accident when I checked his feet, they were full of poo, so much for precautions. He would tell me the nurses were shady at night. His pulmonary Dr was great though, got him off the tracheostomy, and thank god he needed another surgery and got out of that place. It was highly recommended by ICU, but please do your homework.
Being New Braunfels residents, we didn't have many choices for my dad's care after his stroke since he was on a trachea ventilator. Warm Springs was the only hospital in the area for trach ventilator weaning. It was that or drive to San Antonio every day. What a nightmare! Fortunately, my mom and/or one of us kids was able to be there to help care for and advocate for my dad while he was there! IF YOU DO NOT HAVE SOMEONE TO BE THERE TO CONSTANTLY MONITOR YOUR LOVED ONE, DO NOT LEAVE THEM HERE!!! I wish I could post pictures we took of how filthy the place was and what kind of care they actually provided. We could not wait to get him out of there. He is now at New Braunfels Rehab Hospital and the difference is night and day. I can't stress enough your need to monitor and advocate for your loved one while they are here! I have great respect for those in the medical field that provide care to others, but most of the people we had experience with here did not care. We really felt like he was a burden, and if you hit the nurse call button whenever it worked, that is, you were met with a pissy attitude, like you were keeping them from doing something more important. Not an atmosphere for healing here for sure! Sad, exhausting experience for the whole family.
A few excellent nurses can't make up for the extremely poor quality of care given here. I had to throw a shoe in the hallway once to get someone's attention for the very ILL patient next to me. They wouldn't answer either call light.
my aunt is in this place & the nurses aren’t great . They give her no attention and she’s gotten worse, at the hospital she was able to talk and now she’s constantly moaning in pain and looks very dehydrated. I DONT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL. This rehab has no place for a star if I could put 0 stars believe me I would !!
Everyone seems nice, it’s only been a few days yet. Will re-post. Was told nicely Saturday early evening that visiting hours were over? Not posted at the facility nor here on site. Just states 24 hours???
Excellent establishment! Can't say enough about the staff. The doctors were awesome. Top notch!
Not very friendly staff who is interest in earning money and not interested in the welfare of the patient.
