Sensei Hiroyuki Yamashita, 8th dan, first opened the dojo back in 1968 in Long Island City, NY. In the early 1970's Sensei Yamashita moved the dojo to Baldwin, NY, where it thrived for 35 years and where he trained countless students, many to become national champions. In 1999, Sensei turned the dojo over to, long time student, Nick Roseto 3rd dan. Together, with the help of his father Frank (and of course Sensei Yamashita), keep the dojo alive trying to teach all they have learned from Sensei Yamashita to all who walk onto the mat. In 2006 the dojo moved to it's present location in Lynbrook, NY where it continues to carry on the tradition of the Waseda Judo Club.
