While attending this year's Washington County Fair, it was a lot of fun, very well organized, clean, and a lot of fun. Getting into the parking lot had long wait times a few days, I appreciated their efforts with heightened security equipment this year, it made my family feel safer while attending the largest county fair in Oregon. Thank you for keeping it free for everyone to attend, not many fairs can do that! The staff, volunteers, and security were always so helpful and visible.
The lines were so long and i hate that they added a fast pass line. Too expensive for a rist band. Regardless, i still had lots of fun
Never miss a chance to come to the fair when it is in town. They had the great duck race, and we were able to be race winners.
2023 County Fair was a bit disappointing. Good points for us were library sale and soft serve ice cream. Entrance is free. Went on a Tuesday so parking was free. Doesn't open until 5 pm. Line waiting to get in was backed up along the paved parking lot forcing cars to weave through pedestrians. Attendants should redirect the line away from traffic as it forms. They don't allow outside water brought in but the water station appeared to have unfiltered unpalatable tap water. Later found water in main building that might be filtered. 4H building is hidden in the rear. They were closed. No other community exhibits found. It was mostly commercial and entertainment. Staff were being trained after the fair opened. They should be trained in advance. Security personnel were hitting on workers and posing for selfies. Only one route available from front to back of fair. It was crowded enough to make passage difficult early on a weekday. Would expect it to be impassable on busy day. It looked like there are two entrances but only one narrow exit. When they need to evacuate, it would be a mess. I hope they have plans for trained staff to open other exits to evacuate in an emergency.
Beautiful conference center. Make sure to check out the EHNB twice a year.
Parking is expensive. Women’s bathroom only has 4 sinks!!! 4 sinks and like 20 stalls. It makes no sense. Staff is not taken care of or trained properly.
Wonderful multipurpose convention center. I went to a gem fair here and was impressed with the size of the venue, the cleanliness, and the facilities. There were a lot of vendors from far away, some the show was well run.
Washington County fair was a lot of fun! They are selling the tickets in increments of 5 and most rides are 4 tickets. Most games are 5 or 10 tickets. The food is typically priced and delicious! The lemonade large cup is a great deal and can be refilled.
The most UN ADA friendly venue I have every been too... what a waste of money to have NOT A SINGLE DOOR have automatic entry and the 1 ADA/family bathroom doesn't have an automatic door either... as a partner of a disabled child this place is SOOOOO NOT ADA compliant or welcoming. Poor job Hillsboro and Washington County. Also in 2023 how the heck do you NOT have a water filling station and have the nerve to post signs telling people NOT to fill up bottles at the drinking fountain. Talk about wasteful and trying to FORCE ME TO BUY A BOTTLE OF WATER FROM YOUR CONCESSIONS FOR $3. Ummmm no!!!
They could've added more ticket booths around cause everyone was in one line and it took us like, 30 minutes to just get our tickets. The lines where also very long for rides, and the tuff trucks incident worried me a bit, they needed 2 ambulances, but it was really fun, see the pictures below
