I stayed here for one night and had a great experience. After checking in, I followed an employee Darnell in his golf cart to my RV spot, which was helpful and he was super nice. The staff was very friendly, the grounds were clean and well maintained. The campground store had a great variety or merchandise and camping essentials. I was also fortunate enough to have awesome neighbors that shared their travel stories with me. Overall, I would be happy to stay here again.
We stayed 4 nights here and enjoyed our time. This location was clean, quiet, safe and has lots of great amenities. This particular KOA serves as a great jump-off point for exploring around DC/Baltimore, and is a day trip to Gettysburg and other historical sites if you’re a history buff. Staff was friendly, bathrooms were always clean, and the store had everything we forgot dog leashes and extra TP. Great job, Capitol KOA
Really enjoyed our stay here. We have a 35 ft 5th wheel, plenty of spots for big rigs with no issues of branches. The location is perfect to see Baltimore, Annapolis, and DC . The park is well maintained, pool is great, laundry service great. Has many things to keep children entertained with carts to ride, basketball court, pool table, enormous chest set, and play ground. Definitely recommend coming here.
great campground with friendly staff and clean bathrooms. Not sure what else you could complain about. Decent wifi service on top? Come on. Tons of stuff for kids to do if they dont want to hang out by the fire, and it never felt too crowded except occasionally at the pool, which in late August is kind of to be expected.
Not a great value. After spending a month camping across the US, we decided to “splurge” a bit & spend a week at the capital area KOA near DC. It was almost as much as a cheap hotel. Aside from the usual amenities KOAs provide that are geared toward children, it lacked a lot of very basic things that you’d expect from a campground that cost half as much. For starters a lot of the campsites are not level. Our pop up camper actually slid backwards a bit during a rainy night. Thank God for wheel chocks. The most level part of the site was >20’ from the electrical service. So we had to spend $60 on an extension. And the WiFi has never worked. All said, we could have gotten a better deal at a State park.
Attractive campground in a nice residential area. Staff are very nice & helpful. Great example of what I like about the KOA brand…clean, safe, I know what to expect. Location may not advertise this, but they allow long term stays off season in the winter.
I would rate this place 0 stars if I could. The staff was not friendly/helpful at ALL. My family and I live in our camper and are just passing through the DC area. Thank GOD it is only a 2 night stay. My kids went to the jump pad and I was sitting outside of my camper watching them, however the staff would not allow that. Even though, there were 3 other kids on the jump pad with no parents in sight. I was at least watching my children. Once the staff decided to tell me they could not jump unless I was STANDING at the fence line, we tried to mention that there were other children up there with no parents around and instead of having a grown up conversation, the staff decided to drive away on their golf cart in the middle of us talking to them. They were extremely rude. The staff is truly watching your every step, so if you like having baby sitters, then by all means, this is the campground for you. On top of the unfriendly staff, the facility is filthy. The pool is now open for the summer and the water is GREEN. You would think after being closed all winter, they would have had it cleaned and ready for opening week. I would NEVER stay here again, nor would I even recommend this campground to my worst enemy.
Worst experience at a KOA ever. We found one staff member to be blatantly rude and condescending during our stay. He was abrasive and challenging to my husband in tone and manner. It was totally inappropriate and unnecessary. The showers and restrooms have bugs everywhere. They keep the doors to these areas open 24 hrs a day so anything could crawl into the area. Disgusting. The water is cold and the shower stalls so small you can't move. Overall the place is dirty. We've always stayed at KOA campgrounds and never had this type of experience prior. Keep driving and avoid this place.
This is an excellent KOA Campground located in Millersville MD. You have lots of history and shops to visit, there’s Annapolis to the east, Baltimore to the north, and Washington DC to the south. If you choose not to explore the area, you can just hang back at the campground that has plenty to do! Wooded sites and not Wooded sites available, swimming pool, hiking trails, jump pillow, play ground, outdoor Chess Game and Pool table, Bike Rentals and much more. The maintenance and house keepers do a great job keeping the place clean and running well! The office workers at registration are awesome and the store is stocked and open late. If you’re reading reviews and people mention rude staff, that’s the result of someone that’s not happy because they’re breaking the rules and got informed that. Rules are in place to keep it Clean and Safe for all
Traditional KOA comfort. Clean and great staff. Kids are sure to have fun here. Location was perfect for a day trip to Washington DC on public transportation. The recent 0 star lady is not honest or trustworthy. Playground: New Restrooms: Clean Dog-friendliness: Leashes
