Waterford Oaks’ tropical wave pool features palm trees and bubbler fountains near the shore. Other waterpark attractions include a children's water playground with more than 30 interactive activities and a three-story group raft ride; the pools are all heated. Also available are picnic areas with grills, concessions, bathhouse with showers and lockers, lounge chairs and tubes. Oakland County Parks and Recreation lifeguards are trained through the Jeff Ellis and Associates International Lifeguard Training Program and are licensed by Ellis to work at OCPR facilities. Lifeguards take part in an initial 24 hours of training, 10 hours of orientation, on-site training and 10 hours of shadowing a veteran lifeguard on duty at the pool. Lifeguards are required to attend one hour of in-service training per week throughout the summer to ensure their lifeguard skills continue to be top-notch. Management staff oversees the lifeguards daily.

SINGLE PARENTS & MOMS MUST READ!!!!!! From a parent to another .. if you are reading this review to decide if this is the place for you , it is not . This is the only negative review I have ever written during my lifetime honestly, but you are free to apply that as you wish. First off, this is not single parent friendly , if you don’t have another adult to go With , don’t even go … it’s stressful with the tube situation if you have no one to stay back and hold the inner tubes , you can’t take a break to eat , go to splash pad , or even go to the bathroom . You will lose your inner tube and good luck getting another one . The staff consists of college kids who act as such and don’t care about customer service at all. I had an absolutely miserable time , I’ve been home for 6 hours and I am still very upset . This is my 1st time at this location , however I have had positive experiences at its sister location Red Oaks. Today, I arrived within 1 hour of opening , likely 30 mins but I want to be fair and accurate . Then…. There were no inner tubes available . I asked a life guard what the procedure for this was politely , he told me other lifeguards were around collecting inner tubes not in use and that I should wait at the tent where the inner tubes were stored. I did so and waited for quite a while , so much so that the same guy I had asked about the procedure noticed and found me two inner tubes . I went in the wave pool with my daughter very briefly until she asked for her googles something we had missed grabbing after all the mess with the inner tubes I was trying to adjust them but they were new and I was having trouble, so, it was taking a little longer than it normally would . A different staff member came and took tubes and said other guests needed to use my inner tube . I had to literally argue with staff member to keep the inner tube, my daughter become upset and asked me to stop but she did not comprehend he was taking our tubes we had just waited 30 mins for Then we had to abandon them when we went into the splash pad area , which I understand , no complaints about that , however , when we returned of course I couldn’t find any inner tubes available . I even asked staff for help again without success and waited a long time . I saw some deflated ones in a pile and asked staff if I could blow one up , they tried but apparently it wasn’t working . So , I Blew it up manually myself….. just to allow my daughter to use one . But … we again had an issue , my daughter was hungry … well “there are no tubes allowed in picnicking area” she literally was eating a string cheese ! I was told as the inner tube I had just blown up By mouth and probably now have COVID for was being ripped area by the original staff member who watched me wait a half hour for a tube when I arrived the first time . SEE ACTUAL PICTURE POSTED BELOW OF ME BLOWING IT UP
With two major setbacks... the tickets not printing at the enterence and the waves needing to be reset after a disappointing two large burst and then stall... the staff was able to quickly react and fix the issues promptly and professionally... i hope the wave pool will continue to increase revenue and we will be able to continue our summer fun! Thank you to all of the lifeguards and security for keeping us safe. Without you we would not have the fortunate opportunities to ride the waves.
Fun to swim but kind of expensive. I had to rescue a drowning girl that looked about 4 yrs old. It was very crowded and lifeguards didn't see her. Her parents were no where in sight. I don't let my 7 yr old swim alone and he's gone to swim lessons.Visited onWeekendWait timeUp to 10 minReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$16–20
Me and my family come here every 4th July weekend. There are plenty of chairs and shaded areas for relaxing, the splash area for the smaller children is perfect and has lots of activities. There has been some changes due to covid but non that restrict the fun!!
Walked trails around 7am to 10 am. Has both natural ,and paved trails. Not a huge problem with insects in the wooded area, however it was early. A simple squirt of OFF ,on my cap ,did the trick. Impossible to get lost on trails. Lots of large birds , and other wildlife. Remember to keep to your right, or go single file for fast walkers ,or cyclists. Lush and green. If you come in the early spring you can see more of the birds on the water ,before it gets too bushy. Remember NO littering. Saw masks, and other things every once in a while. There are several clean porta jons, and trash cans everywhere. Dog clean up bags are even on the trails. Lots of shaded areas to sit and eat, even on the trails. Park has tennis courts, volleyball nets, several children’s areas, BMX course, and of course the waterpark. A toboggan run is available during winter. Due to covid most is closed, except the trails and a few other areas. If my review was helpful, please like and follow me please!
This is a lot of fun for kids and families. There are areas and tables for picnics and you can bring-in food. I think the waves go off every 20-30 minutes. No yearly passes this year though.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$11–15
***** EVEN THE ONE STAR IS TOO MUCH ON THIS PLACE ***** Bought 5 tickets. My friend went before me and they told her that the park will close due to the weather and regarding the tickets, I should be calling for a refund. I called and they refused to refund my tickets. Its a total rip off. Don't ever purchase tickets online because you never know if they will close the park or even if they ever give your money back.
Great Place to bring the entire family. Rates during the week are very affordable $8 per person for the entire day. You can bring in your own food or they have a concession stand
Paying almost 60$ for a tiny family you would expect some mid level entertainmnet at least but to have ONLY 2 options is byond failure and dissaponment, only wave pool and kids shallow pool were open....NO slides, NO showers, NO adult water entertainment of any kind for self proclaimed COUNTY PARK...thats a silly joke !!!!
No more water slides. Just a wave pool and splash area. Not worth it to pay $20 per person. I wish if they can have slides back .
