Cute little motel with a gorgeous location right at the rivers edge. Super friendly staff! I loved the vintage and hometown feel of this place! If you're looking for a nostalgic little inn to stay, this is your place. Stoddard is a beautiful little place!!!Rooms: 4/5
No stars for service as there wasn't any while we were there. Location is about a mile from their older hotel type rooms and the river. the motels interiors are much nicer than the river rooms. Our floors somehow got wet in a few places. We had cabin number one.
We love Waters Edge! My husband and I took a little trip to get away from our stressful lives and headed to the Mississippi River. My husband had stayed at Waters Edge during the past but I hadn't. What a loss! I wish we would have discovered this wonderful place long ago! The setting is gorgeous, the rooms are large and comfy, the tv and wifi work wonderfully, and we have gone to sleep with the sound of bullfrogs calling in the background both nights! I will definitely be coming back with my hubby, but also plan to come back to rent their vacation home with friends! You can spend all day and evening on the river, or you can head upstream to La Crosse and get a fix on museums, restaurants and shopping. Can't say enough in terms of how positive our experience has been. In fact, we got fabulous service last night when we discovered that we wouldn't be able to make it here by 8 but wanted to rent a room. They waited for us to arrive, almost a half hour late - unprecedented service!
What a wonderful place! I stayed in motel room 8, it's more like a 1br apt with a kitchenette than a standard motel room, the views of the river and bluffs are great. Each unit has it's own character, updates have been done where needed, a very clean and well maintained fishing resort. The price is very reasonable for 1 or 2 people, which is why I chose to stay here instead of Lacrosse. The train tracks are close enough that the building trembles a bit when trains pass, but I live in the city and the noise doesn't bother me, but for some that might be a problem. Rooms: Each room is unique, updates have been done where needed. They have installed ultra quiet mini-split heat pumps in the motel rooms, so no noisy wall or window a/c units like most hotels have. Nearby activities: There's a large county park on the river between Stoddard and Lacrosse that is good for birding and has playgrounds for kids. Safety: They do have security cameras facing the marina slips, and possibly other outdoor areas, the owners also reside onsite and keep an eye on things.
It's beautiful enjoyed it definitely wanna go back Rooms: Very nice rooms loved it
We had a tiny cottage and it was adorable.. We're able to park our boat right there at the Marina.. What a great experienceRooms: 5/5
I parked a vintage camper there and the manager let theives come in and steal it !!!!!!!!Rooms: 1/5
Stopped here on our vacation from Arizona. Stayed in the log cabin. Wonderful place, great for fishing, bait, supplies, boat launch and rentals. Everyone there is so helpful and friendly. Love the new cottages with private lake. Actual owners run the place and it shows. As a veteran, I greatly appreciate the way that you designed one of the Shelters in support the Veterans. Nice touch. We will definitely be back next year.
THIS PLACE IS A JOKE. IT TRYS TO BE FANCY, BUT IT IS A PLASTIC PHONY. THE PEOPLE ARE NOT FRIENDLY, AND THE ROOMS ARE DOLL-HOUSEY. THE PRICE IS TOO HIGH FOR WHAT YOU GET.Rooms: 1/5
I stayed here w a friend in Aug of 2018 & 2019 and plan on returning in Aug 2020. We fished. I brought my boat and for $5/day rented a slip. Each time we were in a cluster of rooms with a kitchenette a breakfast table to seat 4 and some other furniture, nearly all being beds, lamps and fans. There was one TV and A/C. Our units had old stoves that mostly worked. Some of the newer units have great appliances. I think the cost and what is provided is reasonable and they're friendly. This isn't a place that sends maids to clean up after you every day. At least that wasn't our experience. You're responsible for making your bed and cleaning up your kitchen. You can fish from shore, but this area of the river is so weedy... bring a boat. It's frustrating fishing and not having any luck from the shore. If you get on the river, there are some places you can load the boat, there are other places you can run right aground on a sandbar
