Weasku Inn Historic Resort

About

The Weasku Inn, built in 1924 as a fishing lodge on the banks of the famous Rogue River, offers River Cabins, historic Lodge Rooms and Jacuzzi Suites.

Description

This Oregon legend was built in 1924 along the banks of the scenic Rogue River. It was a vacation retreat to many Hollywood personalities such as Clark Gable, Carol Lombard and Walt Disney. In 1993, Country House Inns purchased the Weasku Inn and began restoring it.

In September of 1998, the restoration was complete, the five rooms in the Lodge having been updated, while the original character and splendor was maintained. In addition, eleven cabins were built on the property and an original A Frame cabin remodeled.

Since its completion, “Travel and Leisure Magazine” named this historic landmark “one of the top 25 Lodges in the United States”. Recently, in “1,000 Places to See Before You Die: A Traveler’s Life List “, Patricia Shultz declared the Weasku Inn one of those “must see” places.

We invite you to step back in time, restore yourself and create new beginnings at the wonderful Weasku Inn.

During my recent stay at this hidden gem of an inn, I was captivated by the perfect blend of rustic charm, complimentary breakfast/appetizers/desserts, and the warmth exuded by the exceptional staff members. From the moment I stepped foot into the inn, I was enveloped in an atmosphere that felt like a comforting embrace. The culinary experience was an absolute delight. The inn provided healthy complimentary appetizers at 430 pm daily that included raw vegetables with hummus and a fresh fruit mix amongst other dishes. I was also thrilled by the thoughtful menu that boasted delectable snacks and beverages all made in Oregon along with beers and wines that also came from Oregon. While it may not boast a traditional gym, my two-week stay for work turned into an unexpectedly enriching and active experience. The absence of a gym was far from noticeable, as the inn presented a plethora of natural options for staying active and connected to the breathtaking surroundings. As a guest with a penchant for exercise, the inn's locale proved to be a goldmine for keeping fit. A scenic dirt road that spanned approximately 4 miles round trip, flanked by the majestic Rogue River, became my outdoor fitness haven. The road itself was adorned with delicious blackberries in areas, a true August delight, that provided not only a burst of natural sweetness but also a reminder of the simple joys found in the wild. What truly set this experience apart was the presence of an irrigation canal, fed by the pure waters of mountain springs. This serene waterway not only added to the picturesque scenery but also introduced me to delightful surprises. At certain times of the day, the playful antics of adorable otters in the river were a sight to behold. These charming creatures brought an unexpected layer of joy to my stay, reminding me of the innate beauty and diversity of the natural world. A special shout-out goes to the incredibly hospitable staff, who went above and beyond to make my stay truly exceptional. Brandy, Katherine, Scott, Tess, and MD the charming dark-haired girl in the black hat at the front desk were the heart and soul of this inn. Their genuine kindness, attentive service, and genuine smiles were an integral part of what made this stay unforgettable. Whether it was providing insightful recommendations for local attractions, ensuring my dietary preferences were catered to, or simply engaging in heartfelt conversations that made me feel like a cherished guest, their commitment to hospitality was evident in every interaction. I must also acknowledge the housekeeping staff, who consistently went out of their way to ensure my comfort. Their dedication was evident in their thoughtful gestures of asking if I needed anything further. Their commitment to making my stay as comfortable as possible did not go unnoticed, and I'm truly grateful for their efforts. In conclusion, this rustic inn is a haven of tranquility and heartwarming experiences. From the delectable snacks, beverages, fruit, and vegetable offerings to the exceptional staff members who treated me like family, every aspect of my stay exceeded expectations. I wholeheartedly recommend this inn to anyone seeking a retreat that offers a genuine sense of belonging. My time here was nothing short of magical, and I eagerly await the opportunity to return to this enchanting haven.
Absolutely incredible place to stay!! I don’t write reviews, but I HAVE to for this place- it’s a peaceful plot of land with accommodations for a limited number of people. It’s not crazy or crowded or noisy even when at full capacity. Every member of the staff has been the kindest sounds you’ll ever meet! My girls LOVED the afternoon appetizers and you can’t beat the FRESH, HOMEMADE cookies and milk in the evening. Everything was fabulous- we will be back!!
The Weasku Inn was so wonderful, comfortable, and relaxing. The staff was so lovely and helpful and our king-bed cabin a delight. It was so serene to sit on our deck in the rocking chairs watching the Rogue River rush past, listening to the birds. There were so many amenities like free breakfast, free afternoon appetizers, and free cookies in the evening. The food was great and plentiful. They also serve excellent wines, beers, ciders, and alcoholic seltzers until 11pm every night. We had such a relaxing time here and felt right at home immediately. We will definitely be back! Rooms: The room was spacious, the bed was huge and very comfortable. The room was equipped with a Keurig and coffee and tea. There was a delightful gas fireplace and the comfiest couch. Roomy closet, gorgeous beamed ceilings. Nearby activities: We drove to Kriselle Winery which was an easy 35 minutes away and it was fantastic. River's Edge restaurant had amazing food and and an incredible wine list and is only 5 minutes away. It's very quick and easy to dip right into the city of Grant's Pass and walk around the historic district and grab an excellent lunch at the Twisted Cork. There's a market down the street for late night snacks, a nice and inexpensive dispensary about 7 minutes away. Staying here you are also close to the Rogue River Creamery, great food at Taprock, and a wildlife sanctuary. Safety: We felt extremely safe and comfortable at the Weasku Inn. Walkability: The Inn has a great path to walk along the Rogue River and the grounds themselves are well-maintained and a pleasure to walk around. I don't think I'd really want to walk down the main road here, but it's certainly doable.
What a gorgeous place! The grounds are lush and excellently manicured. The main lodge is roomy but still very cozy. The staff is super friendly. The fire pit is fantastic and the lodge provides the essentials for smore lovers. Highly recommended!Rooms: 5/5
On our recent trip to Weasku inn we were looking forward to our room on the river as their website claims. It’s was not. The Rouge river is there but there was no view. And the other rooms can’t either due to the forest between the river and the rooms. We walked to the river which was nice but it is not a fishing spot and not kid friendly . The was running very fast there. The happy hour consisted of cucumbers, cherry tomatoes and some dips and hummus. The cookies were very tasty but the part about the s’mores is a farce. The fire pit was burning so high and hot that there was not was of making the s’mores. The cabins are very nice and the bed very comfortable and the breakfast was great. But we had trouble with our reservations and emailed the general manager Erik Johnson on two occasions addressing our concerns. He still to yet to even respond to our emails which is very unprofessional. And a major red flag if you choose to stay there.
What a gem. Lovely staff, quaint setting and an actual hot breakfast. We were just passing through for a night and this was the best sleep I have had on the road on a long time. We stayed in the a-frame and enjoyed the stars!Rooms: 5/5
A perfect little river-side cabin for our family of four for one night passing through on our way to the Redwoods. We loved the cozy, welcoming guesthouse/lodge where we enjoyed freshly baked cookies before bed and breakfast in the morning. They even offered smores kits and a fire pit for roasting marshmallows. We sipped on local hot tea by the fireplace as we played cards. The staff was lovely!
This was our 2nd time staying here. Love this place , the staff are very accommodating. It's very clean and they offer breakfast and appetizers and milk and cookies. Which are included with your stay. There were 2 staff members that were exceptional Tess and Felix they made our stay even better! Hope to come back in the near future
We stayed 3 nights and would loved to stay longer. We had a king cabin and it was warm and cozy. The breakfast and afternoon snacks were great. Home made chocolate chip cookies and milk were a perfect way to end the day. Staff is very helpful and friendly. We will return.Rooms: 5/5
