I tried the spicy tuna roll and crunch tempura roll. I gotta say, it's better than the sushi restaurant that I used to go, and most definitely better than other grocery sushi around! It's a bargain for the price.
Our primary market, even though there are much closer places than the 25 minutes we drive to get there. Selection and prices are really good, and the cheese section and their seafood department are top grade. Plus, the cashiers are friendly and so good with bagging!
I used to shop at a Weis store long ago where I lived. Since moving up to carbon county, haven't been to one. We stopped at this one in hazelton to pick up some items for Thanksgiving dinner. We needed some specialty supplies. Asking an associate where to find them. She told us where to go to find it. Shortly after getting to the correct aisle. The same associate showed up to make sure we found what we were searching for. She was very helpful, and friendly. As expected on the day before a holiday. Checking out was as fast as it could be. Given the amount of ppl shopping that day. Excellent experience, lots to choose from. Competitive prices.
Have everything and more, a little pricey but worth it. Good quality fruits and vegetables. Love the grass fed Beef, and free range Eggs.
I don't know what happened at this Weis markets since it reopened. I went to the Bloomsburg Weis when hazleton burned down. Their employees are far more knowledgeable and so very helpful. But my biggest gripe about the Hazleton store is they only have 1 checkout person ringing out. Lots of people standing around and talking but no one checking. Bloomsburg has at least 4 people ringing up the groceries. I am now paying substantially more for my groceries and also have to bag myself. Give me a discount for that and I will do it gladly. As a customer, do yourself a favor and drive the extra 5-10 min.especially if you are in the valley I assure you it is well worth the time!! Hazleton was always a great store for produce and service. Now the produce is terrible-try to find a celery sleeve, garlic, lettuce that isn't brown or old.
Only one human working a register with a line halfway up the aisle directly behind it filled with elderly citizens who only want to grab their necessities and are intimidated by self-checkout. Very disrespectful to the loyal customers.
Rude, abrasive staff.....No customer service, no being polite. RUDE RUDE RUDE staff. Unfriendly unwelcoming store. Will never step foot in here again after deli manager went "Karen" on me for no reason trying act tough and rude over something tiny, minor and simple. Staff is poorly trained on how to interact with paying customers.
Don’t order from this bakery for birthday cakes. Found hairs on my daughters birthday cake. She’s super upset about not having her Frozen themed birthday cake. Absolutely irritated.
They always have the freshest produce and seafood. Sometimes I get lucky and hit it on hardshell crab delivery day. They even have sushi!- it's near the produce. Nice wine selection but you must checkout any alcohol purchased at a certain register. The guy at that register is really nice and pointed out that since we bought seafood, we would get a deal on another bottle of wine or something of that nature,I can't remember exactly. They also sell over age 21 slushies at that register. They were nice on the hot day we shopped there.
Nice hometown grocery store. Have good deals and alot of options for meals. They have a beer store inside with different types of beer, malt liquor and seltzer.
