The clerks were very polite but the judge herself needs reevaluation as she was supposedly on a 3hr “lunch break” a nobody had the ability to reach her … No career I know or allows 3hour lunches You have a job to do miss , as a justice of peace you are required to hold yourself to a higher standard , that includes you’re work ethic.. waited 3 hours only for a 35second meeting with the judge absolutely an absurd amount of time to be waiting for a judge, the new location will definitely need a more diligent judge

Judge Sears and the entire staff are wonderful. Judge Sears was so warm and kind and very accommodating for our court house wedding. Couldn't have had a better experience. Thank you!!!

I just called to ask about more information on a ticket I received and was given the most rudest and disrespectful attitude over the phone. The lady's name was Alexia on the phone and was not helpful AT ALL. I asked one simple question about the ticket and was answered with "I am not a lawyer". She could not explain to me what a simple "waste of a finite resource" ticket was and would not tell me what other surcharges I was charged for. Please give the people who work at a COURT some more knowledge on how laws work. Thanks

West Mesa courthouse is the best courthouse in the Phoenix area. All the other city courthouses should learn from them. Everyone there was polite and treated me with respect, they listened and put in consideration how people just make mistakes in life! The wonderful prosecutors and Judge Mrs.Sears were just amazing and kind to everyone that was before them. They helped make my situation easy to get taken care of with their understanding and thoughtfulness of giving me more time to make things right. I didn’t even have to wait that long either. In a way I hope I never have to see them all again but if I did.. I would wanna go back to that courthouse. Thank you all for giving me a second chance and by helping me get my fees down to make that happen. No other court has done that. You guys Rock! Keep being you and making a difference in people’s lives!

The Commission on Judicial Conduct has had some IT issues and personnel changes which sharply delayed the posting of its public disciplinary decisions, until recently. I am sickened and confounded by the facts behind the reprimand of Judge Sears. In my view, she is a disgrace to the judiciary and shouldn't have the position that she does. In response to "owner," probably the judge who spectacularly demonstrated her lack of ethics, of course you play the victim card because the tactic has worked for you and that's all you know. The "single complaint" you reference was reviewed and sustained by some of the most experienced judicial professionals we have. My review of the reprimand was motivated by compassion, in fact my criticisms reside in the judge's selfish and ignorant treatment of litigants, who deserve compassion. I have been a licensed attorney n this state since 1988 and retired as the presiding judge of a city court 2004-2014. Judge Sears is an unqualified disgrace in my view and her retreat into victimhood simply underscores her lack of character For the good of the the constituents, please resign and stop embarrassing the hard-working, mature, intelligent judges who sacrifice greatly to serve the people.

We are so disappointed with how Judge Sears treated us. We had a very unpleasant time at this court. Take in mind we were there to get married. She sure gave me an awful memory on my wedding day! Her attitude and behavior was unexpected. No matter who you are you should not talk down to people and act like you are better than anyone else. If it's for the money consider being more of a respectful person because it seems like this position is getting over her head. Now, the clerks there at west mesa have been amazing and always so kind and helpful so they deserve the compliments.

I did not fair well when filing my case before the Judge at the West Mesa Justice Court system. I had to DRIVE to Mesa each time to file my case paperwork and was treated as though it was an inconvenience for them to receive it coupled with a " if you don't understand what paperwork to file MAYBE you should have hired an attorney to file it for you " rather than " I will do my best to help you with filing your paperwork - we know that this is a small claim and so we will do our best to keep your costs down to a minimum". After completing my paperwork which was to file a Judgement against a man who withheld my final check among other people's final checks - did not complete at least 4 projects that he had contracted to complete while using labor that did shoddy work for much of what they did not complete choosing to sell his business instead which left those formerly employed by him and those who had contracted him to remodel their homes with little choice other than a Law suit or use of his Surety Bond thru the Arizona ROC to get any part of their money owed back in their possession - I was mailed a letter stating that ACCORDING TO THE JUSTICE OF PEACE / JUDGE my paperwork was not filed correctly in that I hadn't provided " an accurate measure to determine my loss of wages " for the last week that I had worked for this man. I provided my Time Sheet which shows the dates that I had worked for him and what project I had worked during that week the very same Time Sheet format that I had turned in to my employer each week that I had worked for him . The person that I spoke with when I called to find out exactly what was wrong with my Judgement paperwork told me that " the Judge probably couldn't read your Time Sheet and it isn't specific enough about loss of the wages that you claim that you suffered " I was not an hourly employee - I was a salaried employee. The amount that I wrote on my Judgement reflected my weekly salary minus taxes plus court fees - process server fees and one receipt that showed where I had purchased materials and the amount purchased for one of this man's projects. It occurs to me that something is wrong with this Court's form of justice when they intentionally make filing a small claim as difficult as they have in my case. I was told that I could not speak with the Judge to find out why they sent that letter to me. It seems to me that this Judge has no accountability to the public UNLESS it is through the Court System. This appears to me to make this Judge less humane and more elitist - almost as though they not only could care less about my claim , but, also as though they really couldn't be bothered with it and should resolve it by having their clerk initial a FORMATTED REJECTION LETTER and mail it off to the plebian attempting to .trouble the Court with their insignificant problem. GOD will judge this Judge one day. But TODAY it is me that judges them by my review. If I could give them a ZERO I would have.

My experience was terrible I have never been so disrespected by employees in my life. The staffs daily attitudes are ridiculous I mean if you don't like your job why don't you quit. We need more positive people especially in the justice system environment. Karissa is extremely rude

The clerk of the court/staff who answered my phone call was kind; she told me that marriage ceremonies are typically performed after 5pm, suggested that we may arrive around 4:45pm and offered to schedule an appointment for us at 5pm. She informed us about the fees to be paid to the Justice of the Peace for his services, which was $80 Note: in cash on a Friday weekday afternoon. There are other time arrangements available. There is no justice if you are poor. We are being evicted because my apt raise our rent with only a months notice. We've been trying to move out but as i said we are poor and it takes time to come up with money. The judge didnt even care that i had mold growing in my apt for the past year sewage dripping from the ceiling and bedroom carpet soaked in sewage. So landlords can charge outragous rent while your living in a bunch of health hazards. We didnt even get 30 days to vacate . there is no justice if your poor we wont even be able to get medical care when we develop lung problems from the black mold growing on my bathroom wall.
