A year round hunt camp located in the Osceola National Forest, just outside of Lake City, Florida.
Locatd right off of the Florida Trail, making it a great stop on your hike thru the forest.
This is where the fun begins!
West Tower is the trail head for the 50+ miles of equestrian trails just waiting for you to come explore! There are 4 colored interconnecting loops of various lengths and experience levels. But be advised, during parts of the year some trails are underwater in places. During hunting season, always remember to wear your orange vests!
There is fresh water for your horses and stalls with run outs available on a "first come, first served" basis.
The camp has also become a favorite resting grounds for Snowbirds on their seasonal travels.
Directions:
From I-10 in Lake City, Florida:
Exit onto US 441 North towards Fargo/Valdosta
Approx. 3 miles you will see signs for West Tower Campground on right
Turn RIGHT on SE Christie Road
(also marked with brown & white forest service 233 sign)
Road will turn to dirt road, coming upon a one-lane metal bridge
After crossing the bridge, follow the road to the right (DO NOT GO STRAIGHT)
Stay on this road for approx. 4 miles (go PAST Thomas Camp Road)
The campground will be located on your right
