I Usually love the experience here. Unfortunately this was different. First let me applaud the server she was awesome. The bagels good. But the ad on specialty herb cream cheese was my issue. I bought one regular large for about 10 bucks ... but the specialty was 6.95 for a much smaller container. But the real issue was when I opened it. The container from the outside looked full like the regular large but the specialty is scoopedout of the middle not nearly full at all. It is purposely misrepresented. I highly suggest true size containers or don't "make it appear full when it is not.
What an interesting experience. Had my friend not insisted we go there, I would have never gone in. The outside area was dirty and stinky and felt unwelcoming. Once inside, it smelled delicious. The bagels were good, but for multiple gals behind the counter, the service was as "slow as molasses," as my mother would say. Like painfully slow. Was glad to finally get out of the area and enjoy my bagels. I personally would not return again unless my friend needed me to, or maybe I lived in the area and was retired with lots of time available.
The beagles were hard. I don't know how many days they have been there and didn't even had jalapeno ones . They were also very very small and very expensive the dozen. They service was worst a husky Hispanic guy didn't even say Hi, can I help you. He just stared at us.
It’s 2023, to be cash only is bad business. Their other locations can accept mobile orders and have an app with rewards but this location does not support any of that. It is not made clear online that this is the case so if you’re used to another location you’ll be in for a surprise. After stepping up to order, I find out they don’t have avacado, don’t have jalapeños, don’t have bacon… Honestly this was a waste of my time. I’m never returning to this location again. I would have been better of driving out of my way to Encino or Studio City. 3 stars because the food was still delicious and they make the best NY style, chewy bagels. And for being 24hr.
This is a very good place for bagels. It's open 24 hr which is amazing. But its cash only they do have an ATM inside which is a good thing. They have lots of bagels options
If you think NY bagels are the best then think again. Western Bagel has the best bagels in town. Fresh, light and fluffy. The staff is absolutely amazing and are the nicest people. I've been coming here late at night for the past 20 so years. I'm thankful this place is here. They just put in new lighting so it's super bright and you can clearly see everything better. I also feel safe when I come here because usually the police frequent here, hang out and have bagels and coffee. Sometimes we get to talk to them and most of the time they're pretty cool. They also have their own parking lot with plenty of parking including handicap parking.
Cash only, take-out only! Great little bagel place that's been around since 1947. Friendly service with an impressive selection of both bagels and cream cheeses. Very limited selection outside of the bagel offerings, though, with a couple sandwiches, a hot dog, and a few sides available.
Why do people come and pay this much money for something you buy at the store and fix in two minutes. Not busy but still had to wait. Walked out. Nothing special here either.
This has always my favorite bagel place! Chewy and perfect. I highly recommend Western Bagels. Certainly not the ones from the grocery store, but these fresh ones.
Unfortunately the selection at this location isn't as extensive as the usual Western Bagel, but that's because this is the place where all the bagels are made so retail isn't their primary purpose.. That said, the menu items they do offer are quite good and, obviously, their bagels are the freshest..
