For a while I thought the closest Dillard's outlet to Charlotte was in Ashville. But nope, this mall also has it plus some really cute stores such as the antique one in the pics #80sbabythrowback .
I came here when I was younger, and I had a lot of good memories shopping here with my mom and dad and going into the different stores, getting pretzels, and the play area. Coming back now just makes me so depressed, half of the mall is empty, things look so decrepit and broken, and its been like that for the past few years. Yesterday I saw some teenagers bolting out of one of the stores with the alarm going off and I hope they were caught, but I doubt it. Only good things here are the spencer's, and the antique shops. I really really hope that this place can get bought or renovated or at least put out of its misery. It used to be a very happy place that brought me lots of memories and now it's just an abandoned shell that I feel unsafe to even walk through.
Interesting mall in a limbo. Most spaces were occupied by businesses but were closed due to unusual hours. Many antique stores and athleticwear/streetwear stores. Outdated but If the owners did a major renovation this place would thrive again.
Other than a Belk"s store which struggles to maintain its more upscale potential here, this mall is a sad shell of its former self - with seemingly two closed stores for every open one and basic maintenance being neglected. Only two of a half-dozen spots in the food court were open on my visit. National anchor chains other than Belk's seem to be replaced by local mom and pop attempts, or by clearance shops which have now crept into even part of Belk's. Good people are trying to make a go of it here, but the vision of this mall's market gets more and more localized. A long way from the diverse regional attraction it once was.
Decent amount of stores. Okay prices. Decent food court. Generally clean restrooms. There is a family restroom. The tag office is here now which is the reason I usually go here. Sometimes I'll grab lunch at the food court while there. It's nice to have a variety of choices. The parking lot always has plenty of space.
The place is falling apart literally. It looks rundown. Half the shops are closed. Only two of the four anchor spots are in use. It looks like somewhere you’d film a zombie movie.
Yikes, steer clear of this soon-to-be abandoned place! Looks like it hit its stride in ‘92 and has been a painfully slow decline since then. I thought my son would enjoy to playground, only to find it was “closed for maintenance”. That was probably a good thing because I got some very creepy vibes from the older men lurking around the children’s play area. I will not be going back.
This mall has certainly seen better days, however it still holds onto a few stores shoppers might need. There is a small, but noticeable amount of decay in the mall though, and an entire closed third floor that is eerily sitting, not accessible to patrons.
The mall has died down a whole lot since the last time being there back in 2011. I guess this is the sign of the time and the economy. We visited the food court and ate from Jade Express. They have some delicious Chinese food that impress me. Will definitely go back for more food.
Just went to the DMV for my tag renewal! In and out in about 10 minutes. Perfect timing and I don't wait until the last minute. Pay a little early and no waiting like it will be in a couple weeks. Great experience.
