The Westport Fire Department is an organization of 23 full-time firefighters and 20 call-firefighters protecting the coastal Town of Westport, Massachusetts.
Westport has a population of roughly 15,000 year round residents, which increases to around 25,000 in the summer months. Our response area is 64 square miles. Included in those 64 square miles is 35 miles of coastline made up of ponds, rivers, and an ocean.
Westport Firefighters work around the clock manning the following apparatus out of two fire stations:
3 Advanced Life Support Ambulances
3 Engines
1 Tanker/Pumper
1 Ladder Truck
2 Forestry Trucks
1 Special Operations Unit
2 Marine Vessels
2 Rescue Jet Skis
Various EMA Units
The mission of the Westport Fire Department is to protect life, property, and the environment from fire, medical emergencies, hazardous materials, natural disaster, and terrorist related incidents. We will do this through emergency mitigation, code enforcement, public education, and training.
