After switching to WestRidge from a previous vet, I am confident I made the right choice due to the friendly and knowledgeable staff. Any time my pup has an issue or goes to the emergency vet, they are checking in days after to ensure she is healthy and taken care of. Their environment is super home-y and welcoming, and I trust them with taking care of both my dogs. Thank you for all you do!
I can not recommend Dr. Vangi as a vet. She did not provide our dog with optimal care and attention that he needed resulting in a massive misdiagnosis. She has poor bedside manner and ended up yelling at me over the phone as my husband and I were very concerned about our dog. Do not go here, very pricey, they over charge you and they do not seem to take the extra time to care about your animals.
I unfortunately can't recommend Dr. Vangi and Westridge to anyone. The TLDR is she seems to lack diagnostic skill, bedside manner and overall professionalism. I ended up paying for extraneous testing at my own cost and left with the wrong diagnosis. The correct diagnosis could have been caught with the initial x-rays and saved a lot of time and money. I asked for a refund for services with them and responded unprofessionally and with lack of accountability for their missed diagnosis and mistakes. They seem to care more about money than providing high quality care. Full story: I brought my 9 year old pet to her a week ago as he had lost his appetite overnight and was lethargic and a shell of himself. I knew something was seriously wrong as he has never lost his appetite in all his years. He loves food more than anything. I agreed to a couple x-rays and a blood test to figure out what was going on. Westridge ultimately took 6 x-rays instead of just two as they were getting bad images and took additional images and angles due to their frustration with the lack of serosal detail. Their message to me at the end of the day was this is why they took more images; 'frustrated they couldn't get better detail'. They should have realized the lack of detail was due to fluid in his cavity and at the very least called me and told me what was going on. I didn't get this information until the end of the day that they had 'needed' to take more images. Dr Vangi later changed the story to say they took additional images because my dog was nervous and not staying still - a flat out lie she self admittedly wasn't even present during the xrays. At the end of the day we went to pick up our dog and Dr. Vangi suggested it was likely an infection due to moderately elevated Kindey markers. She mentioned there could be a mass but had no level of confidence and thought we should get another blood test, lepto and urinary culture as she thought he had an infection. These additional tests would have costs another $500. We left unsatisfied, concerned, but also upset at our $1k bill with no real diagnosis. We took sent the xrays to another vet of ours and she called quickly and concerned that our pet had a large mass and had experienced a bleed the day prior which is why our xrays had bad detail fluid in his cavity. She could tell because our pets liver was out of place as it was getting pushed by the mass and she couldn't see his spleen at all. We quickly took him to urgent care and got a quick scan which confirmed the presence of a mass in our pets abdomen. We're obviously devastated with our pets condition but also extremely disappointed with Dr. Vangi and Westridge for missing the diagnosis and overall lack of concern. We called many times while our pet was under their care to check in and were disappointed by their lack of updates and communication. They followed up once after we took him home but didn't call after we got him scanned at urgent care they received the results and showed lack of concern and empathy. I'm sure they do care, but it seems their office is overloaded and wasn't able to deliver the care and attention we needed and think every pet and owner deserves from a high quality vet. We've felt even before this experience that their office could put forth more effort to demonstrate care for our pet. We reached out to them to express our concern with the care we received and how we felt we were overcharged for the tests and procedures done under their care. We asked for a refund for services that were not needed during our visit--if they had just appropriately read the initial X-rays they should have known what was going on. They responded in anger, not compassion, and went so far to yell at my wife when she expressed her rightful discontent over the phone. Horribly unprofessional and couldn't recommend this office lower.
City vets are a RACKET. Do not get trolled, do a little research online or take a daycation to a vet in the country where they actually care for and don't just capitalize on your animals. These city vets act like God just like doctors these days and are really good at guilt tripping you into spending thousands on your fluffy fluff ball. Obviously it's situational... but you can save your self a lot of money and make a fun trip out of it too!
No availability for new pets, took 2 days to call back. I think they were being choosy and discriminated on me
So a few weeks ago I came to this vet for a quote to remove my dogs fatty tissue lump on her stomach. I was told they need to see my dog first to get her in the system and run the usual tests. This costs me 250$ or so and the quote was around 1,000$. A few days go by and I get a call saying they will not except me as a client and kept giving me excuses but they quick to take my 250$ payment!! Anyway I went back to my original vet down the street called Garrison Animal Clinic and got the same surgery done for 500$!! Please do your research before coming here because I honestly think WestRidge is more worried about the paycheck they get and not the pets needs. Why would the same surgery cost double here than what I paid at my vet?? MONEY HUNGRY SCAM ARTISTS.
Dr. Kelly Vangi and Westridge were a blessing to us. We recently purchased a sweet puppy from a not so sweet breeder as it turns out and I called around to many veterinarians to see if anyone would be able to see her last minute because we had a ridiculously pricy dental estimate for an extraction necessary for a genetic malformation totally caused by the breeding. Kelly took my call, listened to me, asked so many questions, wanted to know the whoooole story and really really cared about little Mochi’s future. She wasn’t even her vet but wanted us to send her photos and medical results so she could give a second opinion just because she wanted to make sure she could help our little puppy. She even interrupted her lunch break FOR FREE so she could see her in person and make sure the extensive extraction was necessary due to our concerns. I never knew anyone could be so generous and caring. It’s no wonder she’s a vet!
Westridge has proven to me time and time again how much they care. Aside from normal check ups I have had two situations where I needed to bring my cat in right away. They are always super nice and made time to take a look at her. I am sure they are always busy but they set aside time to take a look at my cat. By far one of the best vet clinics I have ever been to and will continue to refer friends too.
