Volunteers and financial supporters greatly appreciated!

Prospect Valley Hospitality is a privately owned, historically significant, 1872 residential housing property in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, U.S.A.
It was purchased to host Christian Missionaries and benevolent workers at the end of November 2001 by Kimary Marchese, former museum artist and school teacher.

There is a separate entity inspired by the property. It is a Colorado Non-Profit of a similar name, called Prospect Valley Hospitality, Inc. It aids Christian Missionaries in funding housing while in Colorado for business or sabbatical. The property contains several unfurnished units that are rented out long term and one furnished “studio” that Christian missionaries/workers of all denominations can rent, one month at a time, based on availability. Donations can be made to the non-profit ministry to help underwrite the rent of workers who often have sacrificed much to help disadvantaged persons of the world. The favored cause is orphanages in 3rd world locations, however, PVH hosts American and international guests from a great range of benevolent causes worldwide.

Kimary Marchese purchased the property for her residence and rental units with a special interest in helping Christian Missionaries of all denominations on short term, greater Denver visits of 1 - 4 months. Ms. Marchese and a host of community volunteers restored the property and saved it from being torn down to make way for more lucrative uses of its valuable land.

The property was originally granted, by the United States government, to a homesteader named James Kelly in 1872. In 2001 Susan Bongers had sought a buyer who would appreciate and preserve the history of her parents Prospect Valley Grocery store, more affectionately know to long time locals as "Jack and Elsie Craig's Place" which boasted her father's 100 kinds of penny candies & her mothers hair dressing at the back of the store in what use to be a rural truck farming community.
Its use has varied over the centuries having been a farm, Stage Coach Stop, Old West General Store, home to Sis’s Tavern, Antique Store and more. Whatever its auxiliary uses over its long history, some portion of the property has always been dedicated to residential housing which is its only use today.

The community enjoys PVH's garden hospitality via strolls through the gardens which boast four seasons of beauty. The grounds have a chicken coupe converted to a prayer & reflection chapel, a custom Gazebo, original outhouse, pond, colonnade and inviting landscape.

Volunteers. especially garden volunteers, are needed to help Ms. Vicki, volunteer Preservation Coordinator safeguard this high maintenance historic property. If you would enjoy spending time gardening in the serene landscape of Prospect Valley Hospitality please contact us.
