The Wheels of History Museum has free admission, but donations are welcome. It is open seasonally mid-May to mid-Oct. from Noon to 5 PM Fri-Mon.
All Aboard! The Wheels of History Train Museum is operated by volunteers of the Bay Mills-Brimley Historical Research Society. It opened in 1995 and is located on M-221 and Depot St. in Brimley. the 3/4 Replica Depot was added in 2012 and is handicap accessible. It has public restrooms, a research area, changing exhibits, and a gift shop offering logo merchandise, books and many gifts for train enthusiasts. The exhibits include artifacts and photographs of Early Life in Brimley, the mills, trains, early telephones, logging, fishing, one-room schools, Great Lakes ships, CCC Camp Raco, cemetery and veteran listings, as well as local family histories.
We have a neat gift shop inside the Depot offering books, shirts, hats, unique train enthusiast gifts for the young and old, children's toys, post cards, pens, cups, patches, bumper stickers, and jewelry with very reasonable prices. This as well as the museum is open seasonally mid-May to mid-Oct from 12:00 to 5 PM on Friday thru Monday.
