Whitfield Funeral Home has been a part of Habersham County since 1971. Formerly known as Whitfield-Perkins Funeral Home, the funeral home was located on South Main Street in Baldwin, after Swenson Perkins death, Larry & Evie Whitfield built a new facility and moved to their present location on Industrial Blvd, Baldwin.
In June of 1999, Larry and Evie Whitfield, along with David Wall, purchased the Habersham Memorial Chapel, which is now Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, in order to better serve the entire county.
Larry and Evie Whitfield and their staff have developed a proud funeral service tradition built on dignity, respect, and honesty in their 39 years of service to this county and surrounding areas. Service is their first priority and they have a commitment to give the most caring, professional service possible.

Larry has been a Georgia licensed funeral director and embalmer since 1967. Larry is the Past-President of the Georgia Funeral Directors Association (GFDA). In 1996, he was appointed by Gov. Zell Miller to the Georgia State Board of Funeral Service. He is a member of the Georgia Academy of Graduate Embalmers. He has been active in funeral service for 46 years. Larry is a member of the Georgia Funeral Director's Association (GFDA) and the National Funeral Director's Association (NFDA).
Evie was her husband's business partner from 1985 to 2005 when she retired to spend more time with their grandchildren, Maggie and Piper Wright and John Tate Whitfield. There are now two new additions to the Whitfield family as they welcomed the births of Jasper Wayne Whitfield on March 16, 2010 and Kyndle Slade Wright on May 10, 2010. Evie is an associate member of the Georgia Funeral Directors Association and still assists at the funeral home on a part-time basis.
Larry and Evie’s son, John, has been employed by the funeral home since 1994. John has been a Georgia licensed funeral director and embalmer since 1996. In September 2002, John, along with wife, Stormie, purchased Yonah Memorial Gardens perpetual care cemetery, adjacent to the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, in Demorest. John is a member of the Georgia Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association. Stormie has been John's business partner since 2002. She is currently the office and personalization manager and handles the business side of the funeral home. John and Stormie have two sons, John Tate and Jasper Wayne.
