This is a nice zoo and aquarium with several "rides" available that are good for both kids and adults. You need a lot of time and endurance if you visit all the exhibits and buildings. You also need a lot of money. Adult entry is $48 each, and rides are not included. Each ride is $6 per person, and includes a train, a sky ride lift chairs, tram, merry-go-rounds 2, log ride, and kids coaster. For $20/hour, you can rent a "Rydable," which is an animal figured power chair type thing, but it is limited in several areas. For $20, you can also rent a wheelchair. Most of the park walkways are graveled, making it dusty and challenging depending on your shoe selection. This also affects accessibility for wheelchairs, the disabled, and strollers, so be warned. Food and drink items are moderately priced, but not all food venues were open. Not all rides and exhibit buildings were open during our visit either. If you're a "zoo person," you'll like this one, but I wouldn't say it was one of my favorites due to the physical size and effort it took to see everything. I could see cost being an issue for families too.
Coming from Chicago where we have Brookfield and Lincoln Park, this is one of the best zoos I’ve ever been to! It’s huge with a ton of variety of animals. Most of the times we’ve gone the animals are pretty active and they have baby animals all the time. The sea Lion show is awesome and the keepers and staff are all incredible. They have several good vendors but also allow food to save a few bucks for families. They also have a tram and a few kids rids. A great family day trip!
I was born and raised in the Phoenix area and have been to the Phoenix Zoo many times but this was my first time here. This place was great for a number of reasons. The sea life and aquarium were a huge draw. My family really enjoyed the sea lion show. We were there on a warm day so getting splashed was actually very refreshing. If you haven’t been here, it’s definitely worth checking out. My kids are already talking about the next trip!
A wonderful place for the kids to spend entire days there without getting them bored. A rare combination of Zoo and Aquarium made this place more attractive than Phoenix Zoo. In a typical hot AZ day, the aquarium offers both cool air and cool things to play. The kids can touch a lot of stingray in a small pond. There is a BBQ restaurant behind the big shark tank. Africa Safari Ride is the best paid activity in term value per dollar both entertaining and educational. So many interactive animal activities for the kids. My kid wanted to feed the goats for the whole day. Animal feeding, seal performance, and many more. The noise in the air might be a little disrupting during your outdoor fun activities with animals due to the nearby Air Force field aircraft training.
I want to give it 5 stars, but we couldn't do a lot while there due to it being closed. Like the roller coaster, we went on the log water ride and it was super fun. Most were closed though.. We enjoyed feeding and petting the goats. We fed the giraffes and saw SO many very cool animals. Lots of sea life, which was great! We also enjoyed petting the stingrays. We had a lot of fun. Food and ice cream places were closed as well, not all but most. Staff were friendly. Gift shot is pretty cool. Parking was good.
This was my first time visiting this zoo, and it was better than I expected. We went during the ice cream social, so it was affordable. The kids got to feed the sea lions and pet the sting rays, but their favorite experience was the log ride! We will definitely be back!Visited onWeekendWait time10–30 minReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$16–20
Spent the day touring the zoo with the family, and wow was it ever fun. The animals here are all immaculately kept with clean and large enclosures. It was a great day and we got to see a lot of the creatures that call this place home. I particularly liked the monkeys and the big cats. Definitely worth a trip to see the zoo. Highly, highly recommended!
Groupon to the rescue on this one. However, imo regular admission is worth the price. So much to do and see! Let me start with a WARNING... • Allergy-prone people like my kiddos and me!: Be sure to take your allergy meds, spray your nose, and/or wear a mask! The whole park is super dusty, and the empty, dry, dust lots surrounding the park don't help! A cooling breeze kicks up the dust, and 24 hrs later, you're regretting life. I know my kids and I did! • Get there EARLY... Gate opens at 9am? Be parked and at the gate at 9am! Why? Cuz you're gonna be exploring for between 4-6 hours, depending on your group. We ended up spending 5 hrs here, and we still did NOT get to do EVERYTHING! • Certain activities have set schedules... Wildlife Encounter and Seals' Encounter at Pirate Cove just to name two events on a schedule. We missed the seals! • The rideables seem to have a rotating schedule... the carousel was closed, the train was running, but we missed it by 20 minutes. Just 2 examples • 100% BUY THE $8.99 reusable/refillable ICEE cups! Trust me, it's worth it. We got 3 of them, and we refilled them 4x during our 5 hrs at the park. • Bring a wagon or stroller for the littles! We brought a little red wagon for my kids to sit in, and my youngest ended up taking a nap in it. • Bring a portable fan, personal fan, and/or cooling towel. You'll thank me for reminding you. It's HOT at the park, during our visit, it was 100°, and in the sahde, it was 98°! Moving on to happier things! • The walkways were always clear, clean, and easy to navigate with plenty of signage to exhibits and animals. • Early in the morning, the monkeys were loud and active, making so much fun to watch them. The birds, especially Peacocks, were loud and showing off their plumage. • If you don't want to walk and you want a way to view a large section of the park, the Skyride, the Train, and the Safari Tram are the ways to go! All rides are $6/person and 2yo and unser are free. The Skyride is 2 people per chair and a 15-minute ride, and you get a great view of the African herds. I was able to wear my youngest 14mo during our visit in her carrier, and she was free to ride. The Safari Tram is a 20-minute, guided tour, and saves you a LOT of walking in Sarafi World. Our guide/driver was amazing and so funny! We didn't get to ride the train, but it's a 15-minute ride that takes you through Australian animal habitats. • The Aquarium portion of the Wildlife World was a wonderful stroll and best done in the afternoon as the buildings are cooler; perfect during the high heat of midday and early afternoon. • The Log Flume ride $6/person has a height requirement and is a quick ride 10-15 minutes. The gentleman operating it during our visit was entertaining and hilarious when he found out it was my 6yo's 1st time. Last bits... • You can bring outside food/drink, just no glass containers. We packed a dry snack bag and a cold bag with our water bottles. • There are water refill stations at every cafe, but not every restroom has water fountains. Bonus: the water in the cafes are ICE COLD! • The gift shops sell... generic souvenirs for the most part. If you want something to commemorate your visit, I'd suggest a magnet or a pressed penny... or your photos! Overall, Wildlife World is amazing. While I don't usually approve of zoos due to the confined paddocks/cages, I learned that many of the animals, especially the birds, are rescues and/or part of a global project in animal conservation and protection.
I liked certain parts of the zoo like feeding the birds and the gerrafs that was awesome! Everything else was spread out to far and lots of repeat animals, monkeys and birds. They had really cool animals through out the zoo. I liked the seals and the show was really cool. The aquarium animals were interesting and different. The mantarays were gentle and really soft to touch! You need to come on a colder day because of all the walking, any kind of heat and its pretty hard on you. They need to have more shade on the walking parts in between animal enclosures. There is a lot of walking if you want to see everything!
Lots of animals. Lots of animals walking freely through the zoo. It is so much fun. The rideable are a must becuase lots of land to cover. The zebras, giraffes and the monkeys were my favorite. Reminder the rideable are a must too hot to walk we drove those electric motor rides for roughly an hour or so $78 bucks for 3 people. In the sun it is needed.
