Took a chance with this one, first come first serve, but lucked out on a Sunday. It lived up to its hype- it's a peaceful campground, nestled among pine, cedar, and Douglas fir, sites have plenty of space, close to neighbors but not too close, walking distance to several bracingly cold swimming holes and a short hike to a gorgeous waterfall. The bathrooms were in great shape we got there but two days later they were extra stinky. Easy to get to from Hwy 49. Camp host was full of personality- but more importantly she was present and helpful.
the most beautiful and magical camping experience you can ever have is Wild Plum Campground it's set in the redwood forest with a gorgeous river running through it and a beautiful FernGully Wild Plum is the beautiful campsite we all dream about when we think about going camping it's definite must-see!
Great spot. Lots of shade. Most spots close to the creek. There is only one pull through spot which is really nice. Lots of nice hikes. Just a really nice chill place. Very quite unless there's alot of kids lol. Highly recommend.
best time camping in ages! even though our tent was way too small it's been a while we had an amazing time. the river was breathtaking, and the sound of the rushing water was awesome even though it made me want to pee. can't wait to go back!
My very favorite spot in the Tahoe forest. Bring your trail bikes and make the ride back and forth from Sierra City proper to the camp site. Dreamy views, bear boxes, cleanest bathrooms, fire pits, and the river has the most incredible swimming holes. Some sites disallow online reservations, making them for drive up only. Easy to find the best spots during the week. Right on the creek for a natural lullaby.
Beautiful campground but beware of which site you book. Our campsite had a yellow jackets nest & they swarmed inside our bear-box and around the campsite. We couldn’t use it & the camp host said there was nothing they could do even though other sites were open. Site 39
Beautiful campground! Kid friendly water access on site and minutes from beautiful deeper Yuba river swimming holes and tons of waterfalls. Kary, the camphost, was wonderful. She got us oriented to the area, was extremely helpful in finding a site for us when we showed up with no reservations was planning on one night only but loved the area so much we decided to stay through the weekend, was delightful to chat with, and an all around great host. Very much looking forward to our next trip!
Wild Plum is a lovely spot. The camp host, Kary, did an amazing job! The campground has never been so clean and well kept. She made sure that excessive noise stopped at 10 pm, and that everyone had access to the creek to play in the water. She is a great asset to this campground that can get pretty busy and over run if not managed well. Thank you to the Forest Service for bringing her on as an excellent addition to Wild Plum. I hope she is able to come back and keep this special place in great shape!
My family and I camped at Wild Plum 3 times this summer!, Absolutely loved it. The swimming is great for kids, the campsites were large and clean and then camp host Kary was awesome! Kary welcomed us, helped us find a site, gave the kids stickers and made our camp experience great! Can’t wait for next summer
Nice camping place off sierra city. Easy access from the trail. No phone service as in most of sierra city
