Didn’t try the food. Had well whiskey and Budweiser. Great atmosphere : a locals bar so no annoying tourists lol Was given no issues about having a large service dog - he was offered his own water : Bar tender was amazing! Thank you again !
If you want amazing food and a great atmosphere, look no further! The Windrose is my favorite spot on the island. I love the food and the staff. Every time I come in I’m greeted like family. The wings are some of the best I’ve ever had! The owners are some of the best people you’ll ever meet. If you are visiting Tybee, you have to check this place out. You won’t regret it!
Windrose is great! Atmosphere was chill and cool plus the staff was also really friendly. The food was good, the darts and bingo good too. But the best was the bartenders, always happy and polite, and the people that hang there were great company! I recommend Windrose to everyone! I come back here again and again. See you there!
I absolutely love this bar and the employees. Patti is very welcoming and each time we come here we fall more in love with this bar! We have tried other bars on Tybee but nothing compares to Windrose Bar & Grill. If you want a good place to just chill and let all your worries out… you will absolutely love it here. It only took once for Patti to remember our names and faces!
Had the Mushroom Swiss Burger, it was awesome and cooked to perfection. My wife had the chef’s salad, she was also very pleased. We visit Tybee often and this was our first to the Windrose and we will definitely be back. They even have bingo on Wednesday night which is a great time. Cheap fun, reasonable prices and looks like a great local hangout.
After traveling to multiple places in the past few months I can definitely say that this is the worst dining and service experience I’ve had. I was on a trip to Georgia to surprise one of my old college friends last week and I looked up nearby restaurants, I liked what Windrose had on the menu and ordered my usual- the Chef salad. I used to work in a restaurant so I understand that the staff are typically overworked and underpaid, so I chose to ignore the fact that it took over 45 minutes for the salad to come out. I was starving after my flights and started eating quickly but after a couple of minutes I felt unappetized and stopped eating. I had this weird aftertaste in my mouth as if something was rotting in the salad. This was around 8:30 pm, I went back to my hotel and woke up at around 3, I was vomiting every 15 minutes not knowing how to deal with this being alone and away from home. I felt like my soul was coming out of my body. I have never once gotten food poisoning and I looked up all of my symptoms, which convinced me that this is what I had. When I called the restaurant to let them know what I ate and what happened, I kept getting re-directed to different staff and managers, with the bare minimum apology and no accountability. The staff was extremely cold and rude on the phone, completely not caring about the situation. This happened to my dad years ago at another restaurant and he ended up in the hospital due to dehydration. I basically paid $12 to get food poisoning and ultimately ruin my short trip, I never write reviews but this really needs to be addressed.
Best place to venture to on Tybee. Whether you are looking for a good drink in a cozy local atmosphere or a delicious meal, Windrose will have it for you. The daily lunch specials are phenomenal and their varied menu has so much variety that anyone could find something to enjoy. If you want to meet tourists, or hear some old Tybee stories from some of the locals, you will never be disappointed, Windrose has it all.
Great atmosphere and not tourist heavy. Drinks are very reasonably priced and well made and so is the food! Music is good and Patty is easily my favorite bartender on the whole Island. It's one of the places I always have to stop by if I'm in the area.
Call me bias because I am a local but this bar is an island staple and has come so far! From the food, to the decor, ambiance, & people that run this place. If you are expecting fine dining service standards then no this is not your place, but if you are as real & awesome as 99% of the people that consume this place, then it will most definitely become one of your fav Tybee spots to hang! Walking distance to the beach and all the other bars is also a big bonus!!
One of the best local bars on Tybee.. great staff and food specials.. do not pass go.. the owners go out of the way to welcome everyone!! Best Burgers and daily lunch specials !! Remodeled and clean. One of my favorites!
