I feel very fortunate to live in a city with such a well-equipped library system. I understand that it's frustrating to many users that Overdrive/Libby is no longer available, but between the paper books, books on CD, Hoopla, and CloudLibrary you can get nearly any title you're looking for. I've even been able to cancel my audiobook download service because WPL has so much of what I'm looking for.
Do you have a freelance translation job offer currently? I have received an offer to translate more than 100 pages from someone who says he represents your library.. Is this a valid offer from you?
I am deeply disappointed. First, they moved from their original location to the Paul Martin Building. This seemed okay, because they were going to turn the original library into a homeless shelter. However, the homeless shelter idea fell through. Now, the original building is just sitting there unused, and it is questionable whether moving to the Paul Martin building is an upgrade. Then there is the number of books in circulation. At one point, they decided to eliminate something like half the number of books in each section. I can think of dozens of really good books in each section I peruse that have been removed simply to decrease circulation. On top of this, many of the older, classic books were removed, which I really enjoy reading; i.e. - I am really disappointed.
I worked for this company and they didn't give Me my money after I translated project for them after I worked on it they tells me you must Pay us 500$ to get your money they tells me after I finished the project and send it for them A person named Russell knox called me and he works for them. I told him to deduct them from my salary. He told me that these are the rules of the company. I mean, they want me to work for them and I give them $500. This is a false company, and they do all this and didn't give me money yet
The best place to study is on the second floor in the left corner. Wi-Fi and charging outlets. Wow
Not a place where you can read in a quiet place . Front desk people are most noise making and chatting whole time in a loud voice. If you want to read in a quiet place for your studies or exam or test better be out of here.
Really upset that they don't use overdrive or Libby for their ebooks. So many people with Kobo that can't access library books now.
First of all any book you want is pretty much at your finger tips. There is a wonderful play area for my young kids and access to all kinds if books!!! Which you can borrow, FOR FREE! Yes Taxes so why not take advantage of what you are paying for? The staff is nice and are there to help. We should understand that they are not Janitors or child care experts. Librarians are guides to what every your mind desires. Treat them with respect and they will almost always fo the same. Last Sunday was Wonderful, and where we go whenever the kids say they have read everything in their library and just has nothing to read anymore!
I was excited to learn the central branch is coming downtown but this has made me miss the previous location. Forget separate floor, there is just one floor and it's more a flea market than library! Everyone is just chatting on top of their voice, and this everyone includes, the staff foremost. There is no decorum, or iota of silence. The staff themselves chat as if they are in their living room, forget about disciplining visitors. No one can hope to study in silence or peace without noise cancelling headphones. So, either one can chat, watch a video, or just read something. Serious study is next to impossible. I am extremely disappointed
Wonderful library with a generous selection of resources and reading materials. The space itself is very inviting, large and unique. They have a really neat tech hub for kids, but all members can use their 3d printer. I found the younger staff to be much more friendly and helpful than most of the older staff.
