Been all over the area for apple picking. This place is my new FAVORITE! Well laid out and a lot of extras. Very clean, porta potties everywhere. Excellent signage -better then any other around. Very cool they bring in other vendors - small crafts, food trucks, free kettle corn samples. Handicap accessible, but still a farm and dirt. Great little store as well - more vendors, signs, baked good, apple cider. Prices very reasonable. Lots of open air space. Only side note, Porta potties didn't have hand sanitizers. Lastly, a cool bar and live music. Definitely going back
Bucket list item for me. Check. This place was awesome. Had lots of options for picking apples. We went with a first open so it wasn't busy at all. They even had a bar in the back. If you in the area definitely go. Lots of fun
Such a great Saturday afternoon at the orchard. Windy Hill Orchard is family friendly and pet friendly. The staff go above and beyond to make your visit enjoyable. Live music and different food trucks and vendors. Apple Cider is the best and the Apple cider donuts are fresh daily. I highly recommend you pay visit and enjoy this beautiful orchard for yourself, you won’t be disappointed.
I love Windy Hill. Apple Cider donuts are the bomb, plus yummy homemade baked treats in their farm store. They also have a Cidery & Winery, apples galore to be picked, activities for the kids, pumpkins, live music on weekends in the fall - all this on a beautiful piece of property run by good people. If they let me, I would pitch my tent and live there.
I went apple picking with my family. The kids loved eating the apples and picking out pumpkins. The store had a nice variety of goods to purchase and the bar was very cozy. The food truck was delicious. We even got to enjoy a nice sunset next to the fire pit while we drank our beers and listened to music. The drinks were a little pricey but overall, we all had a great time and I plan on going back sometime.
My family's adventure to Windy Hill was unlike any experience I've had at an orchard. We went on a Saturday in October during on of their events. I was recommended to them from a friend at work. When we arrived it was quite busy. Vendors, live music, crafts, a cornmaze, hayrides.. it was a welcome surprise to see how much was going on there considering we just came to pick apples and listen to some music. This kind of environment was totally unexpected! My wife, son and I had a fantastic time there and everything from the prices no admission to the process of picking pick up the bag and pay by weight on the way out felt like the customer was always in mind. It felt very casual and comfortable. Not at all like at least one other orchard that tends to cost quite a bit more and might even search your vehicle as you exit. After visiting Windy Hill Orchard for just a few short hours, I'm sure we will be coming back for many years to come. If you haven't been there, it's a must try. Hands down, our new favorite orchard!
Went to the car show it was awesome food vendors music kids stuff but did not buy anything so can’t critique apples or other food stuff
What a great local place! They host free, family friendly events constantly. Each event I've attend had local vendors and food trucks in addition to their own array of sweets in their on-site shop. A shop that always has local craft goods for sale. Additionally, they have bar that feels like a lounge where they make their own cider. Can't recommend a visit enough.
Great place. Friendly atmosphere. They have some great products to choose from. All delicious. The new bar is also done very nicely! Has a rustic/comfort feeling. And the cidars are delicious! Get over there and check them out!
I would not recommend planning a field trip to this orchard. The individual responsible for planning the trips Todd is very unprofessional. We gave him a few October dates we were available for our trip and he selected 10/19 as that was the only one he said was open. He took down our class sizes, and asked us to split our tours into three groups of 1.5 hours each which he selected the times for. He gave us the pricing as well. The day before the trip we spoke after calling him for 12 days and leaving messages with no return call to see if we needed to bring anything with us, and he cancelled the trip and attempted to reschedule. He stated that he never confirmed the trip and then after reminding him of the details he stated it was because they were too busy. In all our years of operation, we have never had this happen. I explained how we already had families take time of work and the kids were looking forward to it. He was less than apologetic and pretty rude. After this call ended, I learned Todd is the owner of the orchard. Thankfully Bowman orchard accommodated us so last minute and we had an amazing time there today. Our families reported that Windy Hill is low on apples any maybe this is why they cancelled. This whole situation could have been handled so differently, professionalism and kindness go a long way. Thankfully we gave our students an amazing day despite this incident and their smiles were what mattered today.
