Winnipeg Public Library

Just beautiful and huge and the lights and art of this flask at night is amazing. It inspires you to create and think and learn. I love walking by this as the cars drive by.

Expect to get hit on in the most vulgar ways imaginable by the worst sloppy drunks. Also expect to have to deal with street people trying to steal your bag, or phone, or whatever you’re not actually holding on to. If you visit this library you will likely watch a fist fight, and hear every swear word or disgusting phrase you can think of being screamed out loud, over and over again. There is a daytime homeless shelter of sorts at the entrance which attracts all of the above types of humanity. Sometimes you see parents with little children wandering around in all this craziness, thinking this is a fun family destination.

The library system has a very serious harassment and complaint follow up problem and that is why retention is dismal. Paying people more money is useless if you allow people to be made to feel uncomfortable with no resolution. BE TRANSPARENT.

Such a great place to work, focus, read.

I have never actually been inside this library however I have put my books in the book slot to return them and that has always worked out really well for me!

Comfortable and friendly. Great for a traveler. Lots of sites are blocked on the computers, though.

It's a little dated, but everything you need in a library.
