Wisconsin Union South

Fun stop on an afternoon downtown/campus walking touralong with the Geology museum with kids. Air hockey! Bowling!

Great place for the Badger Blast! Before the WI football game enjoy a beverage, food and the Wisconsin Marching Band.

Stayed here 4 days. Shower head was clogged and I had to ask twice to get it cleaned. It was still a super weak shower even after cleaning. Found a roach in the bathroom first night. Carpet was pretty grungy. Front desk staff are friendly for the most part but most times they don't look up from their screens when you walk in or past them to take the elevator. That's a bit of a security concern. The most positive aspect was proximity to campus, clean sheets & comfy bed, and free parking with unlimited in/out privileges. We never did try the cafe for breakfast as they open too late 8 AM. Loved Indie Cafe 4 blocks away.

You have to go to Union South at least 1 hour before a home Wisconsin Badger's football game. Fun......

It's gorgeous- Architects did a great job with hybrid barnyard classic features, exaggerated trellis,"stylized" lanterns, a touch of elegance from somewhere else. All brown, lots of brown, earthy brown everywhere. No classic french white trellis, cream, vanilla, blue here. FYI-"Wisconsin" is the french version of something native American. A little fern green found. Then there's "The Sett". The what? The main event here, envy of Wisconsin for sure. All it's missing is a tattoo parlor, and a rooster. Maybe back to 60's "Green Acres" soundtrack and a bale of hay....a petting farm! Wisconsin lotto, palm and tarot cards! How bout a tractor, plenty of "pick ups" and pick up trucks around. The hotel part, a school teachers dream come true, is probably more of a two star, at state pegged 4 star rates!

Rowan, you are truly amazing! Thank you for mapping out the campus, highlighting all the points of interest, sharing your ideas and stories with me regarding the life of a college student, and well just being you! Our room was great, the location is ideal, but you made my stay unforgettable!

Did vino incognito and had a great time learning about wines and sitting by the fire. Excellent way to spend a cold evening.

Love the place, only the Memorial Union is better. But then, Union South has Badger Bash!
