Purdue's Women in Philosophy is a graduate student organization. Our mission is to create a space for celebrating diverse voices of all genders in philosophy.
We aim to
- Provide a space for those with underrepresented voices -- with regard to sex, gender, and/or race -- to network, share ideas, and celebrate the diversity of what it means to do philosophy.
- Improve our visibility, both within our program and in the greater philosophical community.
- Increase the number of women, non-binary, and gender-fluid individuals in the discipline for greater diversity and representation.
- Build relationships with other programs and groups that represent the broader connections and applications of philosophy across disciplines.
- Find ways of changing the field such that individuals with diverse experiences are included, interested, and welcomed.
