We engage girls in art making and critical conversations about body image, relationships, and culture.
Women on the Rise! is a unique gender-specific outreach program that presents the work of contemporary women artists such as Ana Mendieta and Carrie Mae Weems to teenage girls and young adult women throughout Miami-Dade County through partnerships with educational, social justice, and government institutions. Women on the Rise! activities also include publicatons and conference presentations that draw from our experiences.
Partnering with organizations operating in under-served communities throughout Miami-Dade, WOTR! instructors seek to create affirmative engagement and increased awareness of women artists among girls. The program also activates spaces with young women for the development of creative capacity and articulation of individual voices.
